I ran across this article and found it to be very interesting. You have to read the whole thing to get the whole picture. If you subscribe to "whatever" media sources, of course, you will dismiss most of what is in here. That's fine with me. I thought this was some pretty good stuff from a real journalist.

Heaven help us. No doubt the economy could use some tweaking (when isn't that the case), but having our president calling the economy carnage when auto sales and home sales are as high as ever is simply insane. Sigh

It is deja vu all over again. If any of you are old enough to remember the Reagan years we were had a bunch of undocumented immigrants also. Folks were ready to boot them all out. Lo and behold California spoke up and said who is going to bring in the crops? We have undocumented workers that work in the valley for part of the year and they are simply seasonal workers. They tried to find some American people to do this of course. Who wants to move to the valley for a little while and live in less-than-ideal conditions and pick crops? Nobody. So they have to come to a compromise, as usual. And granted that ugly word, amnesty. It's going to happen again or else we're just going to have crops rotting in the field. It's the way the world folks. We have undocumented people who spend part of the year here picking crops. That may never change.
Some people are stupid enough to say let prisoners do it. Could you imagine the type of security that would be involved in letting a bunch of prisoners pick crops all over the valley? Could you imagine how much incentive they would have to have to do it right?
Ever since the valley became what it is we have had migrant workers they're doing seasonal work. The big stink before the Reagan years was getting rights for those workers. That's a whole different story
Welcome to the shout box. Just trying this feature out.
MakeitRain: The 12z NAM wants to develop a line of storms through the metro around 1-2pm this afternoon. However, the HRRR is not picking up on this piece. I would not rule out the chance of severe weather as we head into the afternoon.
