Are we getting close to turning the corner? I'm over this cold weather. This has been me for about 2 or 3 weeks now. The kids were able to get 2 glorious days outside for about 3 hours each time last week, now its been back to cold and soggy, and more cooped-up time.

2012 definitely had a start-stop-start affect to the hot-and-dry conditions. Like everyone already said, March was a blowtorch - we actually hit 90's for a small stretch. But then, April and May, and into the first half of June, were actually fairly normal as far as temps and moisture go. It was just after Father's Day that it really changed dramatically (I still remember that the last day I cut the grass until September was Father's Day weekend), with the first of the way-above-100 days happening in late June. July into early August was unreal and super-dry. I still remember seeing small fires breaking out on the sides of the highways in the dead and dry brush & grass. Then, in mid-October, we paid for it - it flipped to downright COLD pretty quickly (Halloween 2012 was VERY cold).

big, beautiful snow flakes floating down in Hazelwood. If this is the last time I see snowfall until November or December (at least), at least it was pretty coming down.

April 1997 snow, I was a senior in high school. When the snow started pouring, we were working on the school newspaper in our journalism classroom, and we were due to get our "club" picture taken. Instead of doing it in the room, we decided to take the "Spring Newspaper" photo out in the snowstorm. That storm is forever memorialized in the Hazelwood West 1997 yearbook, haha.

it came down pretty good in our neck of the woods around 12:15 through 12:45am. It was enough to get the dog pretty riled up (luckily all 3 kids slept through it like champs ) I won't lie, I'm very very done with this pattern. I love winter.......during winter. The 5 year old in the house needs some outside-time that isn't muddy, with standing water all over the yard and neighborhood park, and 35, 40 degrees. We need some 55-65 temps and a LITTLE bit of sunshine. I'll take this weather again coming up next November. Sorry, I don't get excited about a dusting to a half-inch of sloppy snow/sleet on top of mud and standing puddles, nahhh.

We had a pretty good downpour of sleet/grauple "stuff" about 30 or 40 minutes ago, started to cover the deck and spots of the grass, now, nada.

brain freeze help request: i switched phones and had to re-download the proboards app, but now I can't find the forum through searching (tried "morethanweatherstl", "chris's corner", etc etc). what's the magic search word that will find the forum? EDIT: nevermind, figured it out - you have to go to "me", and then ADD a form and type in "morethanweatherstl".
