Except for the gfs showing rain saturday and Monday. And the fact it rains at some point during that weekend. Yeah. Not bad. Well it’s a holiday weekend in St. Louis. There has to be some chance of rain.

So while we were all watching the Northern Lights did it come to anyone’s minds we dodged a bullet too. If this flare was directly at us. Might be a different story this week.

Is it safe to say without jinxing it to say the St.louis area dodged a bullet?

Just wondering why didn’t Fox2 come on to cover the Tornado Warnings last night. Happened where no one lives? Wasn't really that big of deal? No one was in to over it because severe wx wasn't really expected, and didn't really occur? Enquiring minds want to know. I was just curious is all. One of the other networks went live so was just curious.

Wow... what a day! I am finally home. I saw both 2017 and this year's and agree this was better! For starters, it wasn't hot and humid... it was mild and dry...just perfect weather! Hanging with the SLU meteorology students, launching balloons, was a blast! The greatness of the day was not tarnished by the nearly 7 hour drive home! Traffic was BRUTAL! But nobody was too riled up about. I thought everyone went with the flow... riding the high from the eclipse. We were definitely blessed with an amazing day. I cannot lie, I actually teared up a little at the fact that I was so priveleged to be part of it. Chris I was only 2 hours away in Ferguson but I am still recovering from a case of Pneumonia. I had glasses and was still able to see it my yard. Even though it was only 98-99% totality it was still impressive. It got dark like thunderstorm clouds dark. Darker than I thought it was going to be.

That was one crazy night. Not because of how bad the storms were... but because I was parked in front of the QLCS with no idea what was coming at me because of the radar/data outage. That was not a feeling I care to repeat anytime soon. Chris that whole night with the storms and radar/data outage felt like it could have been a plot to some twister disaster movie.
