I'm also having more problems than usual trying to get any snow reports from the Sierras. I have looked on all the NWS sites in that area and not one of them has a link for recent snowfall totals or storm reports I've searched those sites and cannot find any. I seen a bunch of YouTube videos of stranded Vehicles up on I-80 by Donner Pass from the last several days but, again, I haven't seen any YouTube videos of anyone posting any snow videos or reports. You couldn't go anywhere 3, 4, 5 days before this "Epic Blizzard" hit without seeing something about it. Maybe everyone in that area has no power and can't get any information out. I just find that extremely strange and I'm sure it's operator error somewhere on my part.🤔🤪 Follow @tahoeweather on Twitter (won’t call it X, because that’s a stupid name). It gives you all sorts of data points.

Not seeing where we're going to get any significant rain tonight. I'd like to look at the short range models, but but I'm suffering through another 4-Hour plus Charter Spectrum outage We had our outage on Saturday. Made the kids mad. Made me happy!

Sorry if this has been asked and answered, but what’s the site for the terminal radar?

I have an old co-worker out in Tahoe area. He’s got 2 feet on the ground with another 5 feet coming. Insane snows out there

Also - great job Chris. And whomever pointed out thunder around Springfield earlier today - what a nice prelude of things to come!

I’m looking forward to seeing the final NWS snowfall map for this event. The current one looks light relative to the totals I’ve been seeing on the interwebs.

I just measured 4.5 here on the southern part of Sunset Hills near Mercy South and it’s still coming down albeit lighter. The driveway is completely covered again after I snow blowed it.

Assuming the 1540 line is the dividing line between sleet and snow? It needs to say south some for me to change over.

If the the 18z trends hold through 00z, this will go down as one of the worst model adjustments this close to an event that I can remember. Are the Russian's messing with our initialization data again? I don’t recall Lucy pulling back the football this close to an event. Or am I being too kind?

Never say die, Uncle UKIE to the rescue. There are also a decent # of ensemble members across the various models showing this more north track. Goonies never say die.

Eerily quiet outside. Usually you can hear the rumble of traffic on Tesson or near the hospital from my house. When the wind blows a certain way, you can hear 270. It’s silent. And my street is a solid sheet of ice, even though it was treated the night before. Nobody is getting into this subdivision.

The big StL County districts look like they are gonna hold off till 04:00 to make the call. My kids are ticked “I have to go to bed early?” Yup. You do, like I had to do back in the day.

I guess it’s just par for the course that this storm spotted several days ago to have ice, stayed ice. That if this was snow spotted a few days ago, it would’ve already turned the rain, or cut north leaving us dry. I do wish the ice would stay away though.

Any chance Parkway and Rockwood get another snow day tomorrow? I'd say from the below zero wind chills maybe. Snow, no. If it snows like it did the other night, the roads will not be clear by morning, and buses will not be able to run. Therefore, schools could be closed for that as well.

I remember when it took six inches of snow to cancel school. Times have sure changed. Not better, not worse, just different. I lived in south city and walked to the neighborhood Catholic school. It took a lot to close it. I can remember doing that walk, in the bitter cold with snow piled up. Ducking behind the cars being warmed up to get a little warmed up on the way (totally unsafe I know, but desperate times call for desperate measures). If we were lucky, the teachers would open the school early so we could stand inside before classes started instead of freezing outside. Listening to KMOX at 5:00AM (after the Our Father & Star Spangled Banner) to hear our school’s name was got me first interested in snow. We were in the parade of Saints so it took forever.

Bunch of schools have called for tomorrow out here. Mostly due to cold I think A lot of the big districts around STL County have called off. My kids get another day off, unfortunately

Fox2 weather app’s radar has the precipitation kind of falling apart and weakening as it traverses the state. Accurate? It’s a model. Models have not been great with this so far. I was curious where it got it’s extrapolation from…

Chris, I was driving through that band. At 270 and Gravois - it was coming down really really hard. The flakes were pretty big, and it was snowing hard. I know it’s not safe, but I pulled out the radar and I saw the enhance blue band as I was driving through it. It definitely was the strongest snow I’ve seen in a while.

Roads definitely are not great. Just made the treck on 270 from Tesson to West County Mall.
