I was in Red Bud which was in the totality for 1 min though there was a lot of light bleed coming in from outside the totality zone which was only a few miles NW of me. The temp drop was impressive. I recorded a 8F drop on my home station in Waterloo.
Here's some drone footage I captured today synced with a stationary camera I set up on a tripod.

Just saw on FB that Tom Skilling is retiring today. Definitely one of the best.

Finally! Big thundersnow in Waterloo. First time I've heard any thunder with snow since April of 2010 or 2011. Can't remember which year it was.

I didn't hear any thunder in Waterloo. Currently a snow/sleet mix though it looks like it's good to let up for a while as some dry air punches in from the west. I hope this continues to sag south or I'm not getting much of anything.

most of the models agree on a light snow on Friday. 18z ICON however would be quite nice dropping 4-6" throughout the entire area. The ICON was thr worst with yesterday's storm... by far! I know! It was consistent but BAD!!

what a weird last second major shift south. I was hesitant to believe it after one set of model runs but this looks like a huge bust. Good thing this was never meant to be really big but the WWA looks to bust hard.
I never expected much snow this winter but I knew I would jinx any potential when I bought that stupid snow blower.

The latest NAM is almost hilarious ……. 8 inches to the southwest and 8 inches just to the east ………a couple of inches down our way 10:1 it drops 8" in Marissa. Obviously that's not counting compaction or melting.

Sure looks like there's rotation on that storm unless my eyes are deceiving me Most definitely is. Midlevel rotation... not sufficient for a tornado...but enough to emhance hail production. Yeah it doesn't have that classic tornadic hook. The rotation is easier to see now on the Paducah radar.

Second half of Feb into early March looks chilly. AO looks to get strongly negative. We may be on the western edge of the cold but I don't see any an early spring.

The ICON, GEM and GFS all looks good for a solid snow for those of us on the south side. I think the Ukie even shows some snow. Only the EURO looks bone dry.

I think it's because I'm on mobile version. WSC mentioned it to me how to fix but it didn't work on mobile 🙃 or its me.. Sorry Corner I'll get it right. No biggie. Just thought it was strange. I'm also usually posting from mobile while using Chrome and I have never seen that problem.

Temp down to 8 at 12z Sat..from 46 12 hrs earlier Why do you keep replying with empty replies and then you post a reply in the next comment? Not a big deal but it does it every time you reply to a comment

Did anyone else happen to see a comet or meteor about 20 minutes ago ? Coolest thing I have ever seen in the sky…. It had a fire trail behind it … just incredible! If it was a comet then we are in trouble

I'm definitely at 3 here in Waterloo and still going..the end of GFS has another monster H coming out of NW territories..fantasy land but we could go Ice box the rest of January....Wow! Agreed, 3" easily over on the West sound of town near the Fairgrounds. I'm not expecting much Tuesday. I really your GEM is right. I hope the end of next week storm doesn't cut too far north. That's a huge gradient south of STL in the snowfall totals we you move south of town.

12z GEM was quite far south. Looks like a battle between the GFS/GEM and the EURO/UK?? Split down the middle might be the best approach.

I've never seen it this hazy before. Can anyone recall a heat index prediction of 119 before? I looked out and thought we were dealing with Canadian wildfire smoke again? Are we? My friend in Ashland Mo says it looks nothing like that there.

No, I was kindly "removed" the day we moved out by the moderator neighbor 2 houses down who's last name is similar to a Japanese car manufacturer. She is not a nice person to put it politely. That site is toxic. I snoozed it, but one of our friends shared it. That's how I saw it. Omg agreed!! It is the biggest group of immature people I've ever seen. It was mostly neighbors arguing or complaining. I don't miss it one bit. We have ZERO drama over here, no FB group and best of all no HOA "yet".

I tell you what. I am all for seeing extreme weather unfold. However, when I got out of my car from picking my son up Saturday, and looked up and saw the clouds rotating right above my house, I knew it was time to get inside. I told the kids to go to the basement and fire up the playstation to distract them from the weather. There was a video from someone in our neighborhood that showed a swirling dust cloud in the field and then it just went up. Crazy stuff indeed. It was on our neighborhood FB page. I don't know if RyanD is still on there or not, but if so I'm sure he saw what I am talking about. No, I was kindly "removed" the day we moved out by the moderator neighbor 2 houses down who's last name is similar to a Japanese car manufacturer. She is not a nice person to put it politely.
