I've been extended a weekend meteorologist spot at ABC17 in Columbia, Missouri starting at the end of this fall.
I'd like to thank Chris and everyone on this board for the help, the passion and the support we give each other through all the good and the bad times, for so many years now.
You're all family to me and I owe it to all of you who have made weather-watching feel like something that I can get excited about without looking like a total goof.
Hope you're all doing well.
Feels good to be getting back into the game.
Very cool! I watched ABC 17 everyday while I was attending Mizzou. One thing is for sure, storms do come to fruition much more often out there! Congrats, I will be sure to tune into a few forecasts through their website.
Side note - Its currently in the 50’s here in St. Pete. Feels like 28F. Also, I see those 850’s looking real cold up there already, of course when I leave snow becomes realistic.

I would say models have trended towards the GEM for sure. This is the first time I've been under the gun on a Hurricane! Based on the trends I'm thinking this is going into the Gulf and West of Florida. But who knows honestly. The HWRF has this thing in the Caribbean!
*1921 last Major Hurricane in Tampa. The smallest storm surge will flood everything here.

Trends are not looking good in the Gulf of Mexico this morning. Its possible we will have a Hurricane in the next 48 hours. I just moved to Tampa, FL and Invest 09L or PTC 09L looks like something that we need to watch as the cone slowly but surely begins making its way back east.
gonefishin: Okay. I know these storms are no laughing matter, and I don't know if anyone has posted this, AND I know it's from the Weather Channel, which in and of itself causes it to lose some credibility, but this is one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

MakeitRain: The 12z NAM wants to develop a line of storms through the metro around 1-2pm this afternoon. However, the HRRR is not picking up on this piece. I would not rule out the chance of severe weather as we head into the afternoon.

snowday_lover: I was thinking this was to start late tomorrow night...are we thinking earlier? I'm in Ironton, so I'm not holding my breath for much per the maps that have been drawn up. I'm thinking a little bit of sleet and frz drizzle. Is that correct? It's a balmy 18
