Lost power about an hour ago. Still off. Storm rolled through and looked nasty to my south around potosi and Bonne Terre. Lightning was insane. I agree it’s been a long time since we had lightning like that striking so close back to back.

I had 45-50mph winds with the leading edge. Lost a 2.5-3" healthy limb out of an oak tree but that looks to be all. Radar estimates have me at .50". Probably real close cause it rained pretty hard for a bit. Radar estimates show 1-2" amounts between me and Hwy 21. Figures. My neighbor at the old house in downtown De Soto has been out of power since the storms hit. About the same here. Lost power for a couple hours. We swam in the pool during that time (after storm moved out). No damage here but not surprised if a few branches snapped somewhere nearby with the little gusty winds at the beginning. The rain was welcomed.

Pretty sure I got a pic of a funnel when that storm rolled In. Naturally the rain started as soon as I saw it so it wasn’t visible anymore. After a minute or so I went back to look and it was the Tornado Warning for us going off. I never did get a Severe Thunderstorm Warning first. Then I lost internet. I could not see much but wind driven rain during the event. This was the radar at that time.

Just judging by current radar, I also think southern counties need to keep an eye on it. Maybe as far north as southern jeffco even.

Ok MTW members... as you may have noticed... in order for me to use your pictures on the air I now have to get you to sign a release to grant permission. However, I do have the ability to have those who are interested sign a blanket release that will allow me to use any of your pictures that you take and post here on MTW. I'm going to create a separate thread for you to "sign-up" for a blanket release. Once I get the list of those willing to do so, I will respond with a link to the digital for for you to sign. So be on the lookout! THanks Chris When do our checks come In? 😂 Just kidding

Either I’m starting to turn into my father or I don’t have permission, but I can’t figure out how to attach photos. Anyway, something I’ve never seen before, snow formed a roof over our chicken coop, on the woven wire. A lot of limbs/trees down. Same happened here on the wire run roof! Ours collapsed though under the weight.

Just checked the cameras at the Farm in Vienna Illinois, it’s 33* and about an inch + on the ground and moderate snow. Snowed hard enough to knock out the Starlink. Can’t remember if I have the snow heater on auto, I’ll know in a bit, if the WiFi cameras come back up...lol Hope mine don’t go out. Have no cell service at home.

I don't think anyone has brought this up yet, but we will have the somewhat unusual experience of snowfalling during the day! I feel like the snow seems to always come at night in recent years. Yes absolutely right! Daytime snow that sticks is a bonus around here it seems
