Maybe it's a default feature? Just not sure why that would be the preference, but maybe there's a reason that hasn't occurred to me. Thank you for checking.

Maybe it's a default feature? Just not sure why that would be the preference, but maybe there's a reason that hasn't occurred to me. Thank you for checking. Is the only way to get to it by editing a post and then locking it? I'm assuming that members can lock their own posts, since you're asking. I can't imagine why that would be necessary. Other members can't edit/delete them anyway, and I'm sure that moderators can go in and edit/delete despite the lock. The only reason I could see is that a moderator would want to lock a post so a member can't go in and change it or delete it. I'm sure there's an exception that's beyond my simple mind. Maybe if someone posted that they were going to start sacrificing other members to get it to snow, we could then lock the post to preserve the evidence in case it actually happened. Or maybe the board creators became aware that some people sleep-edit their posts, so they added the feature at their request. Those are about the only two I can think of right now.

I believe it's an admin setting that locks the post after 30 minutes.I've never locked one of my own posts.

I lock down all threads after I move to a new thread. That helps to force everyone into the same thread.
