Cell near Arnold now also starting to right turn. Looks like it's off to between Waterloo and Columbia, IL then down into New Athens, IL. Appears Belleville will be split between the two cells as usual.
Location: Unincorporated West Belleville @ Stookey Township between IL Route 15 and Old St. Louis Rd/Route 13.
Chris, we had a funnel cloud begind my subdivision. It dissipated before I could get it on video but I got some pics but pics don't do it justice. My 6yr old daughter who loves weather came and told me. She spotted it. A couple friends got it on video. It was in the hook area of the storm that passed just north of Waterloo

ETA: we had to funnel clouds. We see the smaller second one. Was very cool.
Aside from some hail... I'd say this was a typical STL under performer. Still glad the watches went up if the sun would have been better involved, this would have been completely different.
Underperformer? I'd say it was exactly as expected. Watch was issued, several warnings issued. Some pretty good hail reported in places. This wasn't supposed to be a huge outbreak. Matched very well with what Chris expected.
This is the larger of two funnel clouds that formed near my subdivision. My neighbor captured this one. My 6yr old daughter spotted a smaller one to the north. This is a screenshot from my neighbor's video so that's why the quality is poor.

grizzlebeard: I'll put this here since it rarely rolls over: Please include your location in your profile, or identify your location when posting observations. You saying it is 20 and raining doesn't help if we don't know where you are. That is all.

gonefishin - WashMO: Okay. I know these storms are no laughing matter, and I don't know if anyone has posted this, AND I know it's from the Weather Channel, which in and of itself causes it to lose some credibility, but this is one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

MakeitRain: The 12z NAM wants to develop a line of storms through the metro around 1-2pm this afternoon. However, the HRRR is not picking up on this piece. I would not rule out the chance of severe weather as we head into the afternoon.
