Enter metro does well with around 6" of snow which is improvement from 12Z. Pretty much metro northeast to Litchfield is the bullseye.

The top analog from CIPS is November 26-27, 1980. 7.7" fell at the airport. There were a lot of duds in the analog list though.

Could the watch go to a warning, or do we need lots of wind for that?

EPS is 3" for the NW metro, 6" for the SW metro, and 8" for southern IL.

If this verifies it is really going to wreak some havoc with my hypothesis that the GFS is biased towards advertising more snow than we actually get.

Could the watch go to a warning, or do we need lots of wind for that? Wind will not be a factor for NWS to issue watch....Is is normally based on precip - I predict they will post Winter Storm Watch within next 6 hours

Wait, Glenn just posted a potential double digit snowfall total? This is officially real and we all should go to the store.

Anyone take a screenshot of that? He showed the latest data - Looked like he was going off NAM I feel like he was pretty clear that likely someone will get close to 10 based on that model but was expected to be within 25 miles east or west of east st. louis. Never said for sure 10" in metro Stl just that its possible and to keep an eye on the weather.

3Z RAP showing a lollipop of 12" west of St. Louis near Jefferson city with a smaller lollipop between 8-10" southeast of St. Louis, but pretty much 5-7" for most of us outside of those zones.
