The snow ebbs and flows in Festus! Light now. What is your total in Festus? There was 3" when I left work at 4pm yesterday. Parents live in Festus & their right at 7.5”

RAP soundings are decent until mid-afternoon. They "show" snow even after that, but I question their "best guess precip type" when it's 3-4 degrees above freezing from 850 to the surface and they have it as snow.
Also, there's some melting going on, and I haven't cleared my measuring spots. My storm totals won't be 100% accurate.

The nam is awfully spunky with the backside snow shower tomorrow into the evening.

My son measured 8 inches on concrete at my house around 7:00 this morning.... here in Waterloo I’m guessing 8-9 inches

Had some sleet/freezing rain sometime during the night because the snow has a crust on top. There is also some compaction. Still snowing but not like it was yesterday.

FWIW--as it sits right now, wsc gets his next weekend. Plenty of time, though.

Couldn’t get to my snowboard until about 8:45 a.m. 8.5”. Snowing pretty good right now. My chocolate lab is in heaven, as is his owner.

M 9.0” in Arnold
Definitely some compaction going on. Snow was fluffy last night and now it’s wet and dense

STGOutdoors, Glen measured 7 and a half on his truck bed topper so I suspect we may have had 8 but allowing for melt!

Don't we always say we don't want to be in the sweet spot 7 days out? Shifts, shifts, shifts.

I noticed the wind has picked up some here. Hoping it doesn't lead to any power issues, already quite a few outages out near Columbia.

It looks like the precip is about to go pffft according to radar. Hrrr brings some intense looking showery precep through the metro this afternoon. Question is what p-type will they be

so with it kinda pivoting to the SW, are we going to actually see some redevelopment in the metro in the next few hours? the radar kinda fell apart.

and it started snowing again & windy, coming from east I noticed the wind as well - not something that was present yesterday. Few times the snow has been going sideways. Good thing this is a fairly wet, heavy snow or we'd be having having drifting issues along with everything else

Couldn't let this one slide. Make the new guy stand out in the snow without even an official meteorologist parka. Congratulations. And where is your hat?
