The southern placement of winterstorm warnings as far south as jackson, ms...impressive. 1 to 3 inches of snow possible down there.

Both the GFS and euro have a storm worth keeping an eye on in the 8-9 day range

Not something I've ever considered. Havana, Cuba was hit by severe weather, including a tornado overnight last night

I'm guessing wind shear is hard to come by there.

Both the GFS and euro have a storm worth keeping an eye on in the 8-9 day range That’s an interesting look on the FV3 for next week. More of an open wave/over-running setup on the GFS. Cyclonic look on the FV3. Euro looks to add a bit of support to the FV3 at this point. Most interesting thing to me right now.

I think the Thursday night into Friday clipper could be sneaky especially for the metro east. If it can pull together just a hair further west it could drop 1-3 inches.

LSX still has the wind chill watch dangling. Will we get a warning or an advisory? They'll have to commit eventually.

18z rgem smokes the heart of the metro Wednesday night into Thursday. Temps are around zero at the surface and -20 C at 850, so maybe 20-1 ratios.
Several opportunities for snow lining up now.

I think the Thursday night into Friday clipper could be sneaky especially for the metro east. If it can pull together just a hair further west it could drop 1-3 inches. That would be a good setup per the 12z GFS. PWATs are getting there as well so may be able to tap into some moisture. That’s about as exciting as clippers get.
