I would feel pretty confident going 1-3” for the metro with a tenth of an inch of ice afterwords

Definitely gunna hafts deal with that darn drier slot somewhere with this one... That will happen... this is a front loaded system. Actually the dry slot will limit any rain we may see. This. I have a feeling the NAM is probably overdoing that conveyor belt into the snow making sector. But it does happen. It's rare. Not just here but anywhere in the Eastern USA. But I remember a few storms like the NAM depicts dropping 2-3" an hour of wet snow typically to our SE because the angle from the GOM to get that deep moisture here is really tough to keep it snow. But it can be done. Not likely tho

We got 6 inches overnight last night, and a possible 5 inches coming Tuesday night. We have had snow on the ground since November, although most of it did melt in a thaw a couple weeks ago. Okay, done with this winter. I'm ready for some good thunderstorms again.

I'm shocked the most by how much Jay Bouwmeester has stepped up. Back in early December he was one of the first guys who took his effort and overall game up a notch. Like maybe health + confidence came through. The players certainly quit on Yeo. That happens. I remember when he literally through Pat Maroon under the bus after a game to the media. I am sure he already lost the room prior to that but that is pretty stupid to do that many years into the coaching thing. Anyways Jay Bouwmeester has transformed his play at his age in a new very young man's NHL in a way I have never seen. I don't think they should give him another contract. But it would be sweet if he could help the blues and himself win their first championship. Before the streak started, they started playing better. Everyone I was telling that to thought I was crazy. Bouwmeester I think has just gotten healthy. I think Vladi was still feeling some effects from the surgery too. The chemistry is something I've never seen before. You can feel it just watching. I like Berube...Yeo was a joke.

I remember that FEB 21st storm pretty well. Very unusual to get snow/sleet with a cutter to the NW. I remember it was super rare and unusual. There was some convective snow but here in Waterloo it was almost entirely salt shaker flakes so it didn't amount to as much as I had hoped. Seems the flake sizes end up smaller when systems are fighting a dry air mass and E or NE wind.

I was pretty confident the blues would turn it around and make a run at the wildcard But never thought they would rattle off 10 in a row and look like the best team in the conference Hell- Nashville is in our sight. 6 points back and 3 in hand Remember when people wanted to trade Tarasenko?

Yea... let's trade our franchise player. So who sits when Perron comes back? I say Fabbri. Not a fan. He has made it through a couple games without getting hurt, so he's got that going for him. Gunga. Gunga galunga.

Yea... let's trade our franchise player. I was for it ONLY if they could get back a franchise altering player in return But I doubt that trade was out there so I’m very glad there were no serious trade talks

Fabbri is playing because Steen is on leave... put Perron with Swartz and Steen- nice number 2 line behind Tarasanko O'Reilly and Schenn. Fabbri upstairs.

What would be causing all the blotchy and irregular patterns?

Put Steen and Perron with Bozak. Don't mess with the 1st or 3rd lines. Probably going to have to sit MacEachern or Thomas.

Many would see maybe 3 hours of snow from the 00z nam.
Limits the ceiling for sure.
1-3 remains safe

This has been a winter of unusual setups so I wouldn't count it out.
As for the Blues, I so badly want to see Fabbri do well. He was a very exciting young player and it sucked when he blew his knee out the second time. Unfortunately he may just never be the guy he looked like he would be due to that knee. I've seen a couple flashes of it the last two games but he doesn't move the same. Two blow outs of the ACL will do that.
Thomas is coming into his own and it's easy to see why they were so high on him. Can't wait to see what he becomes.

Upper level jet is screaming through the Midwest right now. According to SPC sounding climatology the highest 250mb wind speed at ILX was 175kts. The 0z sounding just measured about 185kts.

Schwartz will not be on the 4th line- Thomas will not sit. I would agree on Thomas. MacEachern will be the scratch. Bozak need to center the 2nd line, though. Either Steen or Schwartz need to move down the list. Schwartz can't find the net when it matters. He's scored 2 recently, but one goalie couldn't stop a beach ball and the other net didn't have anyone standing in front of it. He's turning into Berglund.

The NAM snowfall maps are a train wreck lol. What would be causing all the blotchy and irregular patterns? I explained it earlier. Every 3 hours the nam takes a snap shot and uses the current precipitation type to fill in the snow total charts. Because this situation calls for a progressive phase change. FOCUS ON ST CLAIR COUNTY. 1. EVERYTHING STARTS AS SNOW. 2. 3 HOURS LATER THE SNOW/MIX LINE HAS MOVED NORTH. BUT ITS STILL SNOWING. ALL THE PRECIP SO FAR COUNTS AS SNOW. AT HOUR 54 THE NAM TAKES A SNAPSHOT OF THE CURRENT WEATHER AND COUNTS ALL OF THE PRIOR 3 HOUR PRECIP AS THAT CURRENT PRECIP. 3. 3 HOURS LATER THE MIX LINE HAS MOVED NORTH OF I70 WHEN THE STRONGER LIFT MOVED OUT. MOST OF THE PRECIP THAT FELL THE PRIOR 3 HOURS FELL AS SNOW. HOWEVER ALL OF THE PRECIP IS BEING COUNTED AS RAIN OR FREEZING RAIN. AND ULTIMATELY YOU GET THIS: SOUNDINGS INDICATE FOR KBLV STILL GETTING 3.8" AT 10-1 RATIO.

Ya that makes sense Friv. But I was also talking about further west in Kansas and Iowa. Very irregular and blotchy snowfield where it’s printing out all snow
