What is the timing? I have DIRECTV and will be highly upset if its raining during the game. Get a ride to somewhere that’s showing the game. Car won’t get dinged and hopefully they won’t lose a signal. 👍

Noon SPC update virtually identical to the 8AM update.

Airmass becoming pretty unstable across W/Central MO with mid/upper 60s dewpoints and strong heating...front just north of KC up through IRK or so. So far there's not much CU developing though. It's going to be interesting to see how things trend today...the EC has almost nothing here while the NAM blows up storms like crazy across the region which is probably overdone like usual.

HRRR continues to de-escalate the storms this eve. That's ok, there's a much more important storm happening inside Enterprise Center tonight!

HRRR continues to de-escalate the storms this eve. That's ok, there's a much more important storm happening inside Enterprise Center tonight! I’d be completely fine with the storms tonight not happening. Going to an outdoor watch party and don’t want to deal with any rain

This is what the Fox2 Interactive Radar is showing around 9pm. If it was winter... I'd say that looks about right.

There’s some beefy CAPE out across Western Mo and Eastern Kansas that will try to advect this way. Already pretty unstable around here anyway

I would expect it to build more South and maybe a touch Southwest with time towards the higher instability

Looks like spill over from the anvils in KS is creating a bit of a cap over central MO. I'm wondering if that's what's slowing our development here.

Hanging plants are down and tender pots inside or up against house. I sure hope the hail stays away from here

Since KTVI is airing LPGA (with a scary lightning strike earlier in the afternoon, I might add) I went to Hive to catch their weather. They must have been having some sort of technical problem. Beginning at 5 PM they aired 15 straight minutes of commercials.
Guess it makes up for those times when there's breaking news or weather and they go for 15 minutes without a single commercial.

The storms near Hannibal look like some nasty hailers. A bit of a fail by the HRRR again.

Sure looks to me like a tornado signature to me west of Nebo. No tornado warning on it yet though.

DISCUSSION...Several supercells have developed in northwest flow across portions of the Missouri Valley. Up to this point, storms have been confined to the greater instability (KS/MO border), and closer to the mid-level shortwave (NE MO and western IL). Storms have tried to form along the cold front between these two clusters but have struggled up to this point. Given we are past daytime heating and the strongest forcing is moving away from this area, storm coverage may remain quite sparse (as supported by the 21Z HRRR). Where strong updrafts have developed, storms have quickly taken on supercell structures, which is not surprising given around 70 knots of flow around 8km that is being sampled from the LSX and EAX VWP. Expect these supercells to continue through the evening with primarily a large hail threat, and eventual growth upscale and increasing damaging wind threat (including the St. Louis metro area).

I'm shocked that cell isn't tornado warned. Last few frames it has recycled and looks to have a fairly strong signature to my novice eye.

Supercell north of Elsberry showing sustained mid-level rotation... Can also see a notch in the radar. May be no tornado but have to think there's at least a rotating wall cloud.

Looking for recommendations on either free or low cost radars to use with a desktop (website or software, no apps). I've used Weather Underground for years, but it seems they are discontinuing their Nexrad radars as they are not working more often that they are these days.
