I’m so sorry about your MIL Chris, I just saw your posts. Thoughts and prayers for her and your family. How terrible and scary, but thankfully she survived. Here’s to a fast recovery.

Yep, looks active across western MO tomorrow evening. Lots of shear and instability. If storms initiate early enough with access to steep low level lapse rates then there may be some concern for tornadoes prior to eventual upscale growth.

Did not expect a tornado warning out of this line of storms. Nevertheless I see that weak rotation just south of Hermann

Startled out of sleep by tornado sirens going off a few minutes ago here in BG, but all's quiet now.

Did not expect a tornado warning out of this line of storms. Nevertheless I see that weak rotation just south of Hermann I didn't either. You can see the hook pretty well on the radar signature. I imagine there is a cool pool and some good shear as well.

Holy moly! I have lived in Wright city for 16yrs now and live off of South stringtown road, and never have I seen the creek up over the road. I was terrified this morning going into work. I don't know how much rain we have had, but I know my driveway is gone (gravel) and the creek over the road. Stopped and talked to some people who had been there since '85 and they have NEVER seen it over the road.

We had a nice line of storms. But it was in; it was out and that was that. Nothing like Franklin and SW STL County are seeing. We even have the sun coming out a bit now
Stay safe folks!!

Our creek this morning. Made it to Fox 2 with the video. Thanks Chris. Crazy amount of flash flooding around here. Rockwood called off because of it. This summer has been crazy with the heavy rains around here.

In excess of 5” overnight. Extensive flash flooding in downtown Marthasville as well as all surrounding areas. Washington school district had to call off classes due to the flooding as well.

Barely wet the ground in Cedar Hill last night. Got to Eureka and it started to pour! Rockwood called off after I had gotten here. I may go home and even cut the grass yet today!

Looks like SGF up towards COU is going to be favored for severe weather later today...concerned about supercells interacting with the remnant boundary sitting across S/central MO where shear and helicity will be maximized and possibly juxtaposed with the strongest instability/destabilization...CAMs show semi-discrete convection developing in the wake of the current MCS dropping SE with rotating updrafts. This should congeal into a broken line and push into our region after dark with a marginal wind and hail threat.

Hopefully tonight wont be as bad, but these overnight storms tend to slow up and train. The boundary looks fairly progressive overnight so hopefully that's the case...it won't take much rain at all to cause more flooding where heavy rain fell overnight.

The tornado warnings this morning were really questionable in my opinion. None of the couplets were remotely impressive.... And the TDS signatures I believe were questionable. Using the ingredients approach for qLCS tornadoes...it just dud not seem to check all of the boxes. That said, I understand why they went with tornado warnings... But if it were me, I think I would have gone with severe thunderstorm warnings and a tor possible tag.
