Wind is picking up here in west Perry County, MO. Hopefully the lights stay on. Good amount of ice on the trees and power lines.

3.9 Inches in High Ridge today (I cleared my measuring spot before it started this morning). The green radar returns are not producing very hard snow.
EDIT: That band is also trucking along at a pretty good clip.

Pretty heavy snow coming down again in Eureka. Hubs shoveled the driveway about an hour ago and it’s already nearly covered again.

Def zone seems to be setting up right over the metro now- That batch over northern Franklin County, the darker band, isn’t moving.

Strange to see these bands actually intensifying as they approach STL. Seems a$$ backwards from the norm which is cool to witness.

Had 5 inches at the northern tip of Ste. Gen county. By the time I got about 3 miles south there was hardly any snow. Crazy cutoff but glad I got to enjoy it.
Now, please rotate that def. band south. Please.

According to the lsx website, dardenne prairie was a bit too far south yesterday and a bit too far north today as they hv the 4 inch line to abt 70 then again just se of 44. I did measure 2.0 of new snow today and yesterday 2.75, so perhaps the measurements reported in were a bit less or had a compaction factor included. Airport at 4.3.brings official total to close to 7 and winter hasnt started yet. We will have some twists and turns by the time winter is over. Feeling pretty good abt attaining 20 inches of snow this season after this event.

So far about 8" in Waterloo (2" yesterday & 6" today). Crazy to think that if I see 2" this evening that'll bring me to 10". 2" this evening certainly isn't out of the question. I don't ever recall 3 waves of snow from one storm. When all is said and done this is going to go down as one the better snowstorms in many years. Yes, seems we are on the low side of totals mostly (but not the lowest), this was nice to be on the upper end!

Is this zone going to connect itself with the current band over STL? I ask b/c the radar imagery just north of Union looks like it’s back building or is stationary.

Avg of 2.9" since 11pm last night making the total 4.6" thus far. I'm not factoring in sublimation. 1.5-2" more looks doable. That would put me at around 6" or just over when it's all done here in Wildwood just south of WHC. What a beautiful storm! Good catch 920 and coz, the deformation bands seem to be lining up so the metro is the center. Some places could see an additional 2.5-3", but the general rule is 1.5-2".

Look I know I've been busting his balls really bad.
But it's all quiet in Mt. STP.
This evening looks like a fun 2 to 4 inch pick up for most of us.
there is dry orzo undercutting somewhere because I'm downtown and we're getting some pretty lights no even though we're on 25 DBZ for the last 15 minutes
