Another ~50mi shift S/SE will go a long way for us...models still get the dry slot into the area wrapping around the mid-level low.

I can confirm sleet in Cuba. Was getting moderate sleet there, decided to go ahead and come home and finish working from home. In Bourbon, it's going back and forth between spitting a little bit of rain and then some sleet.

Seeing reports on NWS chat of snow in Audrain county, sleet Boone county, sleet in Cuba and light rain in Jeff City. Was checking MoDOT, Iowa DOT and Nebraska DOT web cams before lunch. They showed snow falling with some accumulation on the grass and elevated surfaces. But any pavement on the ground was just wet.

The big question is what happens tonight when we lose the sun, temps drop off a few degrees (we fell about 2-3 degrees short of our expected high temp today), and the intensity of the precip picks up. The HRRR has been consistent as can be.

Dew points are also still in the low 20's so there's also that.

Man, up in SPI the DAM is doing its magic. Dew point has remained the same for most of the day but the humidity has actually fallen. I really don’t like this weather pattern.

Also, for weatherfan22, the teleconnections are starting to look a bit more favorable moving into February. After a stupid high EPO next week, it appears to taper closer to normal with the MJO being forecasted by some models to go into 8 and then 1. Both cold phases for E NA. Pattern change looks to line up around the turn of the month.

The difference between upper level temps on gfs compared to RAP is crazy.
20z rap looks fantastic. Will be fun, as always, watching this one play out.
