I never thought we had a chance of snow in the metro, the Euro/Gem/Ukmet had all the snow way north of the metro. The NAM was terrible all year until the 24-36 range then it did ok

I think UncleSam is correct... cold rain...maybe some sleet.

60% of people in the US has a significant health problem like diabetes. Precaution is the way to go. Even a 1% death rate is huge. Imagine if 50 million people get sick. 1 % die. Way more than the 30000 that die from the flu. Where did you get that statistic? That sounds impossible. I don't believe that for a second. Start believing. www.cdc.gov/chronicdisease/resources/infographic/chronic-diseases.htm

Canadian prime minister’s wife is positive for Coronavirus with mild symptoms. Between that and Tom Hanks it is definitely starting to look like a hell of a lot more people have it than currently recorded as others have mentioned. I say that because higher profile people are more likely at this point to get checked out for mild cold or flu like symptoms. Hell, there may have been millions of cases already. Crazy how differently it manifests itself among age groups. Not your great grandpa’s pandemic. Actually, high profile individuals are who I’d expect to be infected first based on the sheer amount of interaction they have with others. Couple that with the amount of travel they perform and the amount of travel of the people they interact with, and voila.

This is believable. Think of 10 people you know well enough to know of their health. How many of them have something wrong with them. Heart disease also includes marginally high blood pressure as well.

You are exactly right, this isn't anything like the 1918 Flu - should everyone be taking precautions and limiting interaction? Absolutely. Is it the 1918 Flu, no it is not.

It's usually tough to get snow around here from a system that originates from Baja in the winter, let alone early spring. Just way too much mid-level ridging and warmth.

It’s going to be a cold, moist, bitter day tomorrow, Similar to every Tuesday in January.

Well, my trip to Xavier to pick up some books and medical supplies just turned into move-out day 2020! Xavier has extended remote learning to the rest of the year...not just Easter. Thank goodness this wasn't two weeks ago when I was super sick. Crazy times. I'm sure you still aren't at 100% so try not to overdo on the trip. We just cancelled our Scotland trip for the end of April. This bug is the real deal.

Reading the latest as I sit in a small room packed with 115 people for a meeting at work. They did end up canceling all trainings so that’s good. Other than that just saying to wash your hands.

I suppose if the CDC wants to call those that are slightly overweight or have marginally high blood pressure "chronic diseases" but that doesn't mean those people are at a much higher risk of dying from this virus. That's why statistics are often misleading.

That's why statistics are often misleading. Nearly 1 in 7 Americans has diabetes. Around 100 million Americans have diabetes or are prediabetic. 15% of the population is 65 or older. 40% of adults are obese. America is incredibly unhealthy. That’s hard to argue against.

Some winter weather would have been a great distraction.
But man the Earth is on fire right now.
Looking at a global sst map I have been seen the Southern Hemisphere oceans this above normal all over.
And seasonally the NH set anomalies grow this time of year during solar ramp up.
This winter just died.
We really got lucky it was good early.
Could have been a total shutout.
Personally I just lost my job for the foreseeable future.
I don't ever get depressed. My moods have been drug modulated for so long usually only energy levels and inflammation affect my mood.
But I am definitely depressed today.
This sucks

At the national level, something definitely needs done to cover payroll while things calm down. I can’t imagine how such a program would be administered or by whom, but even my conservative/libertarian ! BACKSIDE ! believes something needs done immediately to cover people and companies.

I wonder what the local networks are going to air instead of the sporting events. When ESPN was first starting out they'd air things like Frisbee Golf during the day. Maybe they'll dig up some of those old videos

Plenty of new disc golf videos too! But the PDGA has cancelled all major tournaments until further notice...so there's that.
