Freezing rain in April is almost unheard of. This time of year it's usually just rain or wet snow.

Any of our landscapers know of we arenessential. My company does not mow grass do pesticides or do anything comercial to help the community to keep it running. We only do custom retaining walls and flower beds. But they are all wants and are never for any reason to keep the home safe just to make it beautiful. It is hard to see if we are essenntial or not

It’s kind of crazy the difference between fall cold and spring cold and the way it “feels.” Like right now, I’m out youth turkey hunting with my son in pants and a long sleeve t-shirt. When I deer hunt in the fall in these temps, I’m way more bundled up.

This may define exactly what is essential for outbreaks to come. I realize what is essential to some ppl is not essential to others. Im one to keep an open mind to that sort of thing. Trust in ppls judgement has been let down in recent weeks as entire families continue to parade around in stores and media continues to stir the pot. This thing is definitely going to leave a mark. We cannot let govt manage our everyday lives. We have been advised to stay home and only go out if necessary for the past month. There has been absolutely nothing new that we should not have been doing coming down in recent weeks. Yet in my neighborhood, neighbors speak of thousand dollar fines if you dont have a govt letter authorizing you to be out. Ppl need to exercise their best judgement, ppl need to stop with the drama on social media, and quit reading more into the latest announcements than is already there. Only go out for food or supplies necessary for sustainment. There is absolutely no rule against walking your dog, or getting a gallon of milk. If your refrigerator compressor breaks down, you can still go to the hardware store and get a new one. But get in and out, and dont browse. I might be ok with roping off things in a store to keep crowds down. But the talk im seeing on social media abt everyone heading to empty out the stores in the wake of gov parsons stay at home order is ridiculous.

I'm not going to be "build a bunker" crazy, but it's definitely made me think more about having a better supply of things around the house. On the flip side, my daughter has a roommate whose parents wanted her to get in the car a few weeks ago and come to their farm somewhere in Wisconsin that apparently has a bunker. Where are they now that school is out? Chicago...

I also realize how lucky I am to have my own 200 acres with year round creek and spring water and plenty of room to grow and kill food if the need arises.

This is my first "vacation" in 4 years, of course the weather will suck.
People will really get cabin fever if it's cold and they can't even go outside, lol. The boredom scale is going to go through the roof

Tuesday afternoon/evening is worth keeping an eye on for severe weather. Convection looks to be questionable but some models like the ukie kick off some storms. If storms do get going the environment is primed for supercells

I’m looking forward to some really easy weather Monday and Tuesday before the bottom drops out. Might try to get to the woods for some shroomin Tuesday afternoon...maybe.
Of course we couldn’t get a pattern like this when it mattered. Some impressive cold coming.

If storms do get going the environment is primed for supercells Yeah, I've been keeping an eye on that. It looks like there could be an MCS threat down the river or for the IL counties if there's enough back building. But the best upper support stays north, so it's a tough call. Definitely plenty of bulk shear for supercells.

Have to say I don't think I've ever seen a temperature forecast bust so hard in 2 consecutive days...NWS was 10* too cool yesterday and 10* too warm today here in Brighton. Morning forecasts were 62* Friday and 52* today...actual high was 72* and 42*...that's pretty bad.
