Seems like the potential training and attendant flash flooding threat is setting up for se st chas county into west snd north stl county. A little further south than i had thought but overall, i think as the boundary lifts north you guys in lincoln county will see some shots at storms with intense rains. Stay safe out there, lots of close lightning in ofallon.

Not at six flags Isn’t it just mind blowing how gorgeous that is? But holy cow the atmosphere is supercharged with the lightning and strikes! I’m at 109 and 5th Street. Yup, our house was hit by lightning too

I was expecting those echos in western metro to merge but radar trends backed off on that andthe il side is getting the sustained heavy rain and flash floid warnings in effect over there.

I am at Swansea schnucks in Swansea Illinois and I just heard some of the loudest thunder in my life back to back was freaking awesome.
Just insanely bright white flashes with cloud-to-ground embedded then about one or two seconds later just clap clap boom.
Then another...
CLAP CLAP. SUPABOOK!
AND NOW IT IS FREAKING POURING DOWN RAINING AND I HAVE TO WALK TO THE METROLINK CUZ I FORGOT IT'S SUNDAY IN THE LAST BUS LEFT TWO HOURS AGO.
BAH HUMBLE RUG BUG

I figured we would have more development to the south along the outflow, but we’ve stayed dry down here as well. We certainly had our share last week and looks like decent chances the next few days again.

I have a buddy that farms just south of Waterloo and he says they have only had an inch and a half of rain since early June.... looks like they missed tonight as well.... here in Marisss we missed Friday evening and now tonight..... hoping for tomorrow

I think the boundary penetrated a bit further south than expected, even reflected in todays forecast. However the big pic is that the boundary is going to waver across the area for the next few day and actually the gfs is fairly active overall the next 2 weeks. So while it may quiet down some on some days, the potential for intense downpours and storms is pretty high and shld keep the temp in check, but not the humidity. For a st louis summer, seems a bit more active than what is typical. We will pay in August im sure...august, september, and october seems to have trended more summer like around here - seasonal lag seems to have gotten even more pronounced. Friv did you make it home without getting struck by lightning?

Everything is relatively fine. We didn’t get a hole blown in like some others in my neighborhood did or even some of the house fires that happened in Eureka, just loud sizzle boom flash darkness.
Fire department was busy in our neighborhood last night. Know of at least 4 other houses hit in 2 miles of us.
We are trying to find an electrician to come out and check everything out before we turn on select circuits again.

The Davis on the roof in North St. Pete measured exactly .90" last night. He's feeling a bit shy today so I told him I'd tell you. I would like more, please.
