Sun is shining and warming up. Assuming this will fuel the storms later.

We just barely caught a light shower a little bit ago. Just enough to wet the concrete driveway. I hope we can get a nice steady rain this afternoon or tonight.

Looks like most of the action will be well south of STL other a few showers.

Feels like it just dropped 10° in the last few minutes. Didn’t see any outflows come through on radar and wind is calm. Storms look to be and stay north of Marthasville with this line as well.

Holy cow! That has to be some of the most intense lightening I have ever seen! Non stop lightening and contiuos rolling thunder. A lot of cloud to ground.

Looking south at that storm is very similar to what we had the day prior of a constant lightning show just further south

I'm hearing distant thunder. Looking at Radarscope the nearest lighting to me is over Chesterfield. That's quite a distance. I'd look out the window to the south but I have a building that blocks the view.

Speaking of lightning. Looks at this strike? Wonder if it's a bad reading. Edit: Why have my pics been uploading blurry??

Am I crazy or has this been an far more stormy July than normal? Sure feels that way to me at least. It has definitely picked up the last week or two and made up for the lack of storms in the typical spring time storm season. There's been a bit of a shift the last few years it seems with severe weather and thunderstorms favoring the late spring and into summer across the country. Storm coverage should be pretty good today. I think most of us get in on it by late this evening.

A slight risk has been introduced for the northern half of the viewing area. All short term models are pretty stout with the thunderstorms this afternoon/eve.

Looks like the cluster of storms up around SPI has laid out a boundary just north of the metro...that should become the running board into early evening as the upstream shortwave moves in.

This going to be a northern viewing area thing? I'm thinking they need to adjust the slight risk a bit further south
