Gonzalo is tracking towards the Caribbean and Hanna has decent odds of forming as well. 2020 is off to fast start.

I see Euro is still suffering from it's "landphoon" bias. Deepens the Gulf tropical system by nearly 15mb after landfall in TX. I've noticed this on and off for a couple years now since the major resolution upgrade. Might be time to focus on fixing it though...

Going through some old photos. From the 2014 blizzard. Hopefully we get a forecast like that again soon

I'm really glad I didnt take a screenshot of the Groundhog Day "slizzard" forecast, lol.
I agree about the 2014 storm being a once or twice in a lifetime event...very rare for the region. The closest I can remember was the blizzard that hit around 1996/1997...not sure of the exact date...but it blew some of the highways shut around here. I remember some of the plow banks through the deep drifts being over the cab of our truck. The big difference though was the deep cold...I have not experienced that combination before and may never see it again.

Even the old timers always say that it "never snows that much AND gets that cold at the same time." I was hearing that a lot from the old farmers around here in the days leading up to it. I just remember walking out the back door of the farm house where we lived at that time and thinking yea, this just feels like something I've never seen with the way the snow was coming down and the drifts were piling up. Good times.

Wow the humidity today. It is pooling in the area near the front looks like we wont get much relief until next week when we finally have a nice cool front

I hope that cool front shown on the GFS for middle of next week doesn't disappear. That looks real nice for this time of year.

It’s an NWS storm report from RadarScope. Source is law enforcement so it’s probably legit

Report of tree, power line and building damage in St Genevieve Where do you see this report? Nevermind, I see it. We had pea sized hail at my house, some strong wind, lights flickered at our house and a copious amount of rain. Watching radar it seemed to build just to the north if not right on top of us.

Those storms down south look nasty...I did notice the NAM was forecasting 9.5C/km+ low-level lapse rates down there...not surprised to hear some damaging wind reports.
