Anyone else notice how the frontogenic forcing precip WNW of Warrenton is starting to dry up more as it knocks on our door. Comical in a bad way.

A nice, closed 500mb vort swings by Of course that swings through mostly during peak heating of the day.....Just trying to anticipate another way of why it will not/might not happen....BTW, did everyone see the heavy snow just sit there in the Big Bend area of TX for over 20 hours. We can only hope that Saturday night produces something like December 28th, 2012 for someone. Unlikely but that could surprise someone with a decent band of accumulating snow. That one didn't show up until the morning of.

Canadians are going down with the sinking ship. Both the 12z GEM and RDPS are still showing huge ice storms across the area

Maybe the other batch of frontogenic forcing precip over Jeff City will make it our way before drying up like most of the models have been showing.

We have some flakes mixed in here in wentzville. Temp 34-35 currently. The Gem is definitely stubborn on the more south east solution and colder profile. I know it has a cold bias, but the gfs and euro usually have a slightly warm bias. I still think we will see a little icing tomorrow evening before it kicks over to all rain overnight late. One thing no one is mentioning, it was in the mid 20’s Monday night and should drop down there tonight with highs tomorrow in the low - mid 30’s . Certain areas will have partially frozen ground. I could see this as one of those storms that your north and west facing pavements get a glaze on them for a while until the warmer temperatures and heavier precipitation rates take over.
