Euro continues to scoot SE with every run. It now takes the surface low just SE of the metro. As a result the ice accumulations are moving SE as well

Nice a couple more little shifts and were in business, we’re a 50-100 miles from a nice storm Along with colder temps at the surface longer, a weaker and further south system also keeps the really warm mid level temps further SE. Its a trend to keep a close eye on. The 15z rap was similar to the GEM/Ukie solution

West of Hidden Valley Ranch and East of Breckenridge....we will have to get together sometime after all the crap settles down.

I just saw that upper 20’s west and north suburbs and around 30 on St. Louis. In these set ups I always watch the dew points and wind direction. The dew points are in the upper 20’s till about sunrise with a north east wind through early morning. With the further south east position and weaker low, you get much less warm air surging north. That with the fairly cold ground temps you could definitely have some icing in spots especially north and west of the city

Maybe a Nov 20/Dec 1st, 2006 trick? Believe that storm was supposed to be snow, than rain, but then last minute ended as an ice storm.

Wagons SE
That fits the trend we’ve seen the last few years of these systems getting sheared out as they try to eject

That was a beat storm with way more cold air to work with. Tons of sleet . It had a strong arctic high pushing cold air and a stronger low and secondary low.

Maybe a Nov 20/Dec 1st, 2006 trick? Believe that storm was supposed to be snow, than rain, but then last minute ended as an ice storm. Not even in the same league. That was an incredible storm. This could be a borderline ice storm transitioning to rain. The holiday is about the only thing that makes it worth watching

I was outside. If I squinted and looked at something dark, I could see a few tiny flakes fluttering around. Amazing.

Just like that I have a dusting. Heavy hamsters. Sorry I’m excited lol
It’s melting so fast sadly. As soon as it slows down it all melts. Disappointing but still nice to have flakes flying.
