We were at our cabin overnight and today sitting out on the deck I was buzzed by a yellow jacket and a fly! It’s too early for this!

I’m getting a gut feeling we are setting up another beautiful March/Early April only to get a hammer dropped the second half. It doesn’t look like the blocking in the East Pacific will materialize as once modeled.

It's amazing how stubborn the EPO has been to stay positive despite the SST pattern strongly favoring a negative phase...

This looks like a boring stretch of weather coming up with zonal flow dominating. I guess that should be expected after a major arctic air dump

Looks like February is going to finish around 4th-6th coldest on record.
Knocking 2015 the only other recent year out of the top 10

Ya know unclesam I once read an article several years ago about where weather forecasting was hardest in the US. I don't remember exactly but I'm pretty sure Denver was way up there if not number 1 hardest. Mountains just make weather more complicated. Nothing really related to your snow delimena, just thought it was interesting....

I just know on my honeymoon in Winter Park the first week of June we were getting several inches of snow and at the same time there were tornadoes and severe weather on the plains of eastern Colorado

Nothing really related to your snow delimena, just thought it was interesting.... It's been nutty. Between banding, pinning down where upslope sets up and accounting for the wide variety of terrain over a small area... I'm just glad we usually dont have to ever worry about ptype before March.

Yeah lower dewpoints in higher elevations go a long way. Denver convergence zone also gives severe storms an extra source of spin.
