Heaviest snow of the season currently here just south of Denver in Centennial! Can’t even see the apartment complex on the other side of this parking lot.

Someone said on Facebook that that was the ice from the ice dam that formed upriver. Don't know how accurate that was though. I heard that the dam had threatened the shutdown of the Labadie Power Plant because the river level had dropped so low that they wouldnt be able to intake water.

There was some other suburbs of Denver that got 12-13 inches! My bro in law north of there got only 6 and it’s heavy snow!

Your information is correct on all accounts. The river was extremely low before the ice dam broke. It has risen since but still relatively low which is good for now with snow melt up north.

I predict the final week of February will be well above average temp wise and below for snow.

These temps are making it hard for the sap to flow. Need overnight lows below freezing

The first 5-10 days of March are looking warm and wait for...wet. This year can go away. 2 weeks of winter out of the entire season. Of course, this only applies locally.

Yeah it appears our long, hard, terrible, endless 2 week winter will just about do it this year, barring any major change.

as for winter, its increasingly likely that the extreme cold we had is going to be followed by a long duration of mostly above normal temps. rainy too. could have gone either way, but its looking like milder temps will win out. 2 weeks of hardcore winter that will skew the overall avg downward. just shows that avgs dont tell the full story.

I also predict that we will have at least 1 severe weather day between March and May. I'm going way out on a limb with that one, but that's the way I roll.

This was my car this morning, haven’t seen a snow this big since 2016. Meanwhile forecasting in StL is tough. The Mets out here were calling for 2-4 inches and most in the metro woke up to 10 inches plus. A Denver cyclone formed combined with the clashing of different convergence bands made for an impressive storm! Btw Euro was calling for 1.9 inches meanwhile GFS nailed it. Is it safe to say GFS is the new king? Haha
