winter=over Hope everyone enjoyed that whopping 2 weeks. I thoroughly enjoyed that short, but amazing stretch. Wish you guys would have had something closer to the Chicago experience. I would lock in for a hardcore 4 week winter and then 60s if it meant the same total snow personally. Much cooler to build a snow pack than to spread it all out and melt each time between events. Now, the dream is for the whole winter to be like that 2-4 week stretch we just had.

Those long range severe weather analogs are produced by Dr. Gensini's research group at Northern Illinois University. They are a legit outfit with peer reviewed research on long range severe weather forecasting and surprisingly skillful results. I just wish they had more information posted on how the analogs are produced...I couldn't find anything other than based on CPC day 8-14 forecasts I think. I mean 113 sig tors from top 10 weekly analogs is...what...an average of like 11 per week per analog or something. That'll get your attention.

Looks like a bit of a noisy night south of I-44 in MO, and along and south of I-64 in Illinois overnight with more showers and storms tomorrow afternoon between 1-4PM from Springfield, IL to St. Louis, into Salem, MO and points east. Might be some hailers too according to the NWS especially southeast of town.

0.65 here in Chesterfield. The winter grime washed away and a hint of the smell of Spring in the air... or is that just mold.

Rain gauge still out of commission but had some nice thunderboomers early this morning and the pond is out of it's banks. Definitely an early spring feel out there!

Quick .59 last night. Salt is gone, and grass is greening. I think spring may be here to stay. Even tonight and tomorrow night looks to be the coldest at 28 to 30. Thats bot far off the normal 50 and 30 for march 1st, then only going to get warmer through the week. I think in about 10 days sever weather will be ramping up in the bi state

I know Spring has started when I’m awake in the middle of the night with downpours, and the birds start talking before dawn.
