This winter has been really boring. Does anyone see any hope for any snow this month or we now into February before we get a storm? After tomorrow it looks pretty uneventful for the next couple of weeks.

2 or 3 would be nice in Union..right on the line. My dog would appreciate it too. You need to look more closely. I left a doughnut hole over Union

The SREF plumes just dried up. Down to less than 1" in STL... but the spread is still very wide.

For KSTL the latest NBM 90% confidence interval is 0.0" to 1.0". The best guess is 0.3".

I’d be pretty ecstatic if I could get the 2” the 18z 3k and 12k NAM drop here

Both 18z NAM are a major improvement across the board and picking up more moisture.

I have never seen so much snow forecasted in my life, Im truly scared for the st.louis area tonight lol. This is absolutely historic we may see 18 to 24 flakes near 70, and out where snow man lives Im calling for 24 to 36 flakes with locally higher flakage possible.

Looks like the NAM has initialized the mesoband currently across NW KS at least 30-50 miles too far north. I'm afraid this one is probably toast for STL...and I dont mean French!

the 18Z nam doesn't bring 1-2" to i70.
The rap and hrrr are essentially dry along 70.
The Hires nam is the only model bringing accumulation to 70.
The euro is Good but dry.
That's about it

The lighter snows look okay but another band you're right it looks like it's a good 30 to 50 miles south of where the name had its afternoon. we'll have to see if it migrates east or not if it doesn't then yeah that's not good sign

The 20z rap is better. However it shows precip accumulation way after the radar shows nothing within hundreds of miles. Like what the??? It does have the band in Kansas.

I’m actually concerned about the rain possibilities on Saturday due to the frozen ground. By the time Saturday gets here frost should be getting fairly deep and will take a bit to come out. If the raindrops are warm that will help pull it out quicker tho. A few years ago we had an icing issue with a scenario like this. Mainly on gravel surfaces tho

Need to watch Saturday morning for a short round of freezing drizzle before temperatures warm above freezing as low level moisture increases. The models have been indicating saturated lower in the low levels topped off by a dry layer above the inversion. This, coupled with gentle lift provided by warm air advection may result in a very fine drizzle/mist that will be freezing for a while with air temperatures possibly still in the 20s to low 30s. Something to watch.

Was thinking the same about Saturday...the ground will be frozen solid by then.

That’s funny I told one of my snow contractor friends about the very same thing. Possible salting Saturday morning. Once the ground is frozen solid, you can have freezing on pavement until the air temp gets above 34-35 at times

This is going to sound like a dumb question for most but I’m asking anyway. We have smart tv’s in the house and I’m curious if there are any apps that can either be installed on tv or casted to tv by phone where we can view a large image of the radar. Any suggestions?

Your best bet is probably to screen share an app like RadarScope from your phone or computer. Other than that I know the weather channel and non accu weather make smart tv apps.
