There sure are a lot of reports of flooding. Shouldn't a warning have been issues. At least aereal flood warning.

There sure are a lot of reports of flooding. Shouldn't a warning have been issues. At least aereal flood warning. Per chat earlier this morning, "We're continuing to watch the flooding situation, but so far the rain has been falling at a slow enough rate that flash flooding isn't an issue yet". They noted some areal flood advisories were hoisted to address rises in some streams.

I’m trying to figure out how this is possible. I guess the plumbing underneath is what drew the lightning? Also the comments on this story are about as gold as you would expect.

Cast iron waste plumbing. Hit the vent stack and down it went. Must have been repaired with PVC at some point to prevent it from just going to ground

If the rap is right we may want a flood watch issued tonight.
Its showing 2 to 3 inches down 70 into the metro as the deformation band moves through.
Another thing I follow is lake of the ozarks it was at level 656.4 at mid night, now it is 657.4 at 11 a.m. and the lake report has it cresting at 659.5 tomorrow which is near the 660 full pool. 3 foot rise is significant on a lake that size in a day.
As well as most lf our area had 1 to 3 last night. Just my 2 cents but I feel and agree with some others that a flood watch is warranted.

2 inch bulls eye right in the north and western metro on 15z rap. That is not 2-3" lol I understand what you are saying. However, not all do. There is a big difference between .5-1.5" with isolated spots to 2" as opposed to 2-3" up 70 into the metro.

Yes It was hard to see on my phone. But wven 1 to 2 in the metro will cause issues at least urban and small stream as it is saturated out there.
Sorry bout that

Flood warning just came out for Dardenne Creek in St. Peters at 11 AM. I don't think there's any homes or businesses left in that flood zone unless they are up on pilings.

It runs right by my parents' subdivision but all of those houses are out of the flood zone. I do know of one house on Mexico Rd right before you cross the creek that is in the flood zone.

So, is the Andover, KS tornado still rated EF3? From the footage I've seen between Timmer's drone and video taken from the ground, that had some of the most intense motions I've seen in a tornado. The velocity of debris being lofted is something I'm not sure I've seen before...those sub-vortices had to be 200+ and it seems like that may have been roughly confirmed through video screenshot calculations. Facinating stuff...and terrifying.

Ya it’s still preliminary rated as an EF3. This might be the footage your referring to but this security cam footage of the Andover tornado is some of the best tornado footage I’ve seen. The violent nature of tornadoes is as terrifying as it is mesmerizing.

Guess the NWS needs to add this in their verbiage for when they issue severe thunderstorm watches. "Please don't wash dishes, take showers and/or use the toilet..."
