I started watching Ryan Hall, Y'all on YouTube, and I get sucked into it. Have to force myself to turn it off to go to sleep. There are definitely more severe events this year than there has been in the past couple years. I just hope my bad luck doesn't keep away all of the good storms. I recently started working for him as a weather analyst (volunteer position). It’s pretty crazy all the work that goes on behind the scenes in making his videos. He literally has a small army working for him.

I was just about to post on the 'discrepancy' between the record temp numbers. This was posted on todays disco...... Record highs for Thursday, May 12
STL 92 (1956) COU 93 (1956) UIN 93 (1956)
Of course, I then noticed it says "THURSDAY, MAY 12TH" If I remember 1956 was during a pretty bad drought.
Todays record surpasses 2011 and 1914 of 91*. I think STL hit 93* today, so far. Yuck.

In addition to the record heat it was really humid today too. I don't have the data available to say for sure, but it wouldn't surprise me if 5/11 is the earliest date of a HI of 100F+. If not it has to be pretty close.

So...where's the heat advisory?
Is it just me, or has NWS been asleep at the wheel lately

I can't tell on radar but it looks like there's a couple pop-up showers to my East. Due east of me so guessing along 55 maybe around Barnhart or just east of there.

We got our a/c set at 75 and it is warm in this house! I turned my AC on Monday. We had several people over and a bunch of kids going in and out constantly. If we would've been able to keep the doors and everything shut it probably would have been okay and would have waited till Tuesday. Set it at 74 on Monday, I just backed it up to 75 today. It's nice in the house after sitting out here on the porch.😁

On a side note the road crews have been working on Hwy H adding to the shoulders getting ready to repave it in front of my house today. I'm sure the people that drive it that we were stuck in the traffic already know that. They pretty much had it picked up by 4:00 or just a little bit after. They were loading the last of the Bobcats onto the trailers in front of the house. Looks great.... now after they repave it instead of the big trucks doing 60mph in a 50mph they'll be doing 65 and 70 in a 50.🤔🤔 I know they're making it a little wider. I'm thinking they're going to realign the road on some of the curves to kind of straighten them out a little bit. Just a guess on that part. I know I can't wait for them to cut the culvert pipe that they installed under the road last year and left it so long that I can't get buy it with my mower. I can barely get by it on my four-wheeler.

Ya, the storms have been everywhere but here. I'm not even asking for severe at this point. Just some good thunderstorms. We've had mainly plain old boring rain everytime. Just like Winter, we once again get shafted...😢

What's the record high low for Thursday? 72 in 2018. It looks like 73 today could be the new record. We'll have to wait until midnight to be sure

GFS pretty consistent on something gnarly forming in the Gulf towards the Labor Day Weekend, looks powerful like a Cat 1 to 3 storm.

Severe chances rolled back quite a bit for Friday Night, now barely marginal risk from Slight. not surprised given the largely late evening overnight timing of the storms. Mostly just garden variety stuff here with an isolated downburst/wind event. Hail and Tornado risk looks very low due to warm temps aloft amongst other factors.

That front is going to take it's sweet time with the cut off retrograding towards the river valley. That should set up a "squeeze play" across the region though, which favors pop up storms.
