So I do have a question for all of you. I just saw Chris' graphic on the coldest wind chill events in St. Louis history. Now correct me if I am wrong, but didn't they update how they calculate wind chill in 2000 where numbers now are not as severe as they were back say in the 1980's? If so, did they update the computations of those record numbers? the only year on that list after 2000 were those brutal days in 2014.

I believe those are all on the new formula... but waiting on confirmation.

Have some ice/snow built up on the lens so a bit blurry, but you can see how there are trees you can usually see not far off in the distance, but can't even see those now.

Short-term models drop right around 0.25" through the entire region...2-4" looks like a lock with a couple hours of heavy snow around lunchtime or a bit after with BLSN developing.
Enjoy, and stay safe and warm!

The models are picking up on the front edge of the band of snow being where the heavy snow band will be. It shows this be slightly slow as it crosses the river but only slightly before everything is whisked away.
So when the main snow starts it will likely ramp up to heavy snow with 1/4-1/8 visibility in minutes with crazy winds and temps in the low teens falling into the single digits.

SN falling here, winds picking up, with SN already blowing sideways.
Flake size looks to be pretty decent too.... was this expected or will they become smaller as temps drop?
