Sister-in-law lost power during the storms in the wee hours this morning and just got it back on about 8 this evening. She lives in Woodson Terrace a little south of the airport. They had lots of good sized trees down in the area.

Well I hope Pevely and Festus enjoy this stray shower that I'm hearing Thunder out of. Pretty sure it's distant thunder I'm hearing. Could be pyrotechnics too. Just gorgeous with the Sun going off it and unfortunately the reason I can say it's gorgeous with the Sun going off it cuz it's too far east of me.🤪🤪🤪

Had about 6 inches of rain yesterday in Chicago.
Yard already went from brown to green so I feel vindicated for not watering at all for the dry 2 months prior 😂
NASCAR was pretty comical with how wet the track was in Grant Park. The park itself was also destroyed with people trampling through all that water/mud.
Was a novelty for sure though.

PSA...Twitter is now private. If you post links to tweets those without a login can no longer view them...at all. A quick Google says this is by design now. Obviously I'm not suggesting people stop posting twitter links. Just know that many of us can no longer see them.

Time to screenshot every tweet I want to share

I have a lot people I track on Twitter. I never tweet so I don't see the point in signing up. I get why he's doing it. It just seems like there is a better way. Afterall, ad revenue is being lost this way.

finally got the new station up today. It's reading about a degree or 2 warmer than my other sensor which is in a shield and under a tree, but the rest of the sensors are as wide open as I could get them. Sits about 6 feet above the ridge. Feel free to check out my data: ambientweather.net/dashboard/ff68b8eac5e9cdf2e43b3e607cb14704

Wow, John, that puts out a lot of info. Is that a Davis station? Ambient weather. I think it was 189 from their website. I bought the mast and hardware from them as well, but I probably could have gotten the hardware cheaper at the hardware store or Amazon

Well I haven’t had hardly enough rain to wet my driveway! We’ve had showers all around us the past couple of days but at my house we haven’t even had a tenth of an inch! Ugh! Can anyone tell me if this pattern is gonna break?!

That storm over Central Jeffco into Festus looks like it's just sitting there, someone's going to get a lot of rain out of that. We were coming back out of Olympian Village and as soon as we cross 67 heading west on 110 it started pouring and I mean raining very hard. It didn't stop till we got to Main Street in DeSoto which was 7 miles east of my house. So I got on the radar and I seen that this developed right over basically DeSoto proper and Olympian Village I did not get anything at my house 7 miles west of DeSoto except for that little shower I texted about or earlier. Certainly looks like several shots of rain over the next couple of days so I'm sure we will get some then.🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Edit:certainly a good soaking for the expected fireworks tonight.

Looks like a weak shortwave near IRK is pressing SE and may ignite some isolated storms across the region with peak heating underway. CU getting agitated here in Brighton

Had a storm move north to south just west of here. Just close enough I had to close the pool we belong to for just over an hour. What a pain to explain when it's still partly sunny.

Just got home from De Soto City. Had a little 'dampness' in the driveway. I looked and looked for the 'moist' GIF but couldn't find it. Anyway, I get on NWS site to see Storm Total precip and can't believe we were screwed again. While in De Soto my daughter, grandson and I had to duck into the house because of lightning and the thunder was non-stop. Not a drop of rain in Liberty Ridge from those evening cells that fell apart AGAIN at the JeffCo/Frnaklin County line. Unbelievable. The 'Arch Effect' has moved.

A lot of the short range models have the storms blowing up right overhead or just to the east today… Looks like we will be threading the needle again lol…
