How dry was Feb compared to normal? Was the only precip the thunder snow event? Lambert has had .4 for February, all of it from the one snow event. A few Trace days.

How dry was Feb compared to normal? Was the only precip the thunder snow event? Dry. It seems pretty droughty still for it being one of the wettest times of the year typically. Pretty concerned about this growing season unless things change pretty quickly.

Pretty concerned about this growing season unless things change pretty quickly. I focused so much on the snow event, I was surprised when there wasn't any rain on my station. Not good to be this dry.

If models are right the Sierra Nevada Mountains are going to get some epic snows.

If models are right the Sierra Nevada Mountains are going to get some epic snows. Watched a forecast out of Sacramento on YouTube this morning that said exactly that. Like 8-12 feet starting early Friday.

Hard to believe it’s been 7 years since you chased and covered the Perryville EF 4 tornado, Chris. Definitely one of those nights I will never forget.

If it makes anyone feel better, as of last Wednesday Syracuse was roughly 63" below normal snowfall for the season.

My son was in class when his college campus was hit by an EF1 on Tuesday evening. Wild to think that of 22 ever recorded tornadoes in February in my CWA, 11 occurred on Tuesday, 3 last year and all have happened since 2005

Winter is done, we'll have the usual cold snaps here and there until Mid-April, but she gone. Second favorite time of the year is starting, growing season!

Just saw on FB that Tom Skilling is retiring today. Definitely one of the best. Condolences to CBTL. if MTW was a 90's-era horror movie, the plot twist would've been that CBTL was actually Tom Skilling anonymously stalking us and himself.

Definitely seems Spring has sprung. The night the front blew thru I was awakened by heavy rain and thunder sometime around or after midnight. It didn't last long. Fortunately we were working inside yesterday. I'm off today and just stepped out in a t shirt and it was bearable for the short time I was out.
I definitely need more rain IMBY. My pond still hasn't filled and usually this is when it's full, late winter into spring. I'm growing concerned as well about the upcoming summer season regarding drought conditions.

NAM with some big flakeage tomorrow morning. The isothermal layer all the way up to 700... ideal for flakes to collate, and some omega thru the DGZ. Be nice if it's correct

This week has been one of the wildest roller coaster rides in temps we have seen in a long while.
70 degree swings from coldest to hottest, and back to near 80 sunday.
No wonder folks are all sick at my work.

Prayers from my weather friends would be appreciated. My sister is having knee replacement today. This has been a very long road getting here. She called at 3 a.m. Apparently she is allergic to the gel they wanted her to put on pre surgery. Hopefully this is the only stumbling block today.
