This is turning into a scary situation fast with the frontal wave riding up 44 and surface winds backed ahead of it. The shear parameters are loaded for strong tornadogenesis.

I wondered if the morning storms being not nearly as organized as the severe MCS which was expected would factor into afternoon development. I know there still was a bow-MCS, but it was so far displaced S I'm wondering if it didn't scrub the atmosphere like it would have if the intensity and organization would have been much stronger in the CWA from the morning storms. Then again it may not have mattered either way since I am just taking a guess, lol.

The timing of it moving out by early to mid-morning and the EML/subsidence behind it coupled with strong moisture advection allowing rapid destabilization was the wild card.

Okay i’m at the point of wondering now what the hell the NWS is doing. I normally give them all the leeway I don’t think this is the local offices…they were putting out on social media that there was a risk for severe weather today and in the areas it’s going to develop and is currently…SPC was behind on the messaging, and the atmosphere very quickly destabilized. Sometimes that isn’t evident until short term. SPC is behind today.

Just to be clear, the local NWS offices don't typically hoist watches...just ammend or cancel them. This is squarely on the SPC.

SPC has conference calls with WFOs so everyone is on the same page and agreement about where to put higher end outlooks and watches. They likely had to coordinate with several WFOs since it will be a PDS Tornado Watch, so it takes time. Just my two cents.

I don’t think I have ever seen a radar where every single cell is currently warned. Hopefully the cardinals will error in the side of caution and just send everyone home. Not a good time to be at the ball park

PDS Tornado watch up Man, today has gone from 0-100000 Started with an enhanced risk, then marginal, then back to enhanced and a PDS watch. Crazy. Everyone down that way stay safe.

It’s looks like there is a decent size hail core just to our south. Pea to marble size still here. We are staying in Rocky Mount, MO.
