So I guess no jokes about it being to cold outside? Someone, somewhere will announce that things are ‘cooling off’, when it will still be as hot as purgatory. One of my favs.

9:35 am this morning, there was so much condensation on the window of my front door that I couldn’t see through it. RH at that moment was 90% on the Davis.
Whatever the word is that’s worse than gross, this weather is it. Gimme a thunderstorm, or ten…

I’m not even looking at the Davis. Except for dog duty, hiding for the duration.

Just for the record, with the last storm’s stuff, had some wind gusts, didn’t think anything of it. So this am, hubs goes onto the backyard and we have two large branches down on a redbud. Broken in the same angle so I think that it was probably a serious rogue wind gust. Must have been a doozy, both were over three inches thick. Healthy too, just had an arborist checking out my backyard a few months ago. Took down a dead tree and trimmed a few others, that one included. So no dead wood.
First time having real tree damage since the ice storm of ‘07. Weird since wind usually hits perpendicular to what this did.

I hope so. Got a whopping 0.08 in from that tiny thing that just went overhead. Enough to wet the ground. A few distant bolts of lightening, no thunder. However, the temp has dropped dramatically. An hour ago, it was 91 degrees, and now it's 79. I'll take it.

Another .31 in overnight. Running total since Friday, 2.11 in.
And I'll take every low 80+ day, and all of the rain that I can get. Better than the alternative.

0.67 in yesterday, 1.13 in today. Had power notably flicker enough this am to reboot all of my electronics, but it didn't go out. My lines are buried to the pole, so it was something in the system after that. Grateful for a good rain. Hopefully this puts a dent in the drought, at least in some areas.

I was inundated with ants in my kitchen when I first moved here and developed a system. YMMV but here it is:
Terro ant stakes in all of my flower beds near the foundation of the house.
Make a little bowl out of foil, like the size of a nickel, in the kitchen in the area that is problematic. Put in a about 2-4 ml of Terro liquid. Place it under the edge of whatever appliance they seem to be drawn to. For me, it was tucked way under my dishwasher.
Then outside, closest to the area where they seem to be coming in, I use" Hot Shot Ultra Clear Roach & Ant Gel Bait". Comes in a large syringe. Wear latex gloves. Open outside. My problem was only my kitchen area. So I would squirt bits in a rough line into the crack at the edge of the foundation near that part of the house, and at the backdoor, just before the threshold.
Never saw a line outside, but adding the Combat, did the trick. I usually do it once in the Spring, but will do it again in the Summer/Fall if there has been a lot of rain. This is my yearly Spring ritual and I've never had an issue again.
Coming from CA near the SF Bay, you only have potential for a handful of problematic bugs. Ants being the main one, because of excessive sand in the soil, which they love. They come in for two reasons. Too much rain, they're looking for a dry place. Or more frequently, not enough rain, they're looking for water.
Btw, for me, I also had an issue here of a boatload of box elder bugs that loved my white siding and would congregate on it in the late afternoon sun. Once I did the Combat, that stopped too. Again, YMMV, but it works for me. I don't want to spray pesticides in or outside of my house if I can help it. I moved here, with young kids and dogs. Wanted to minimize their exposure.
It's worked so for me. Good luck.
