There's an ice blockage between Boonesville and Glasgow, MO. They said it will break up with this warmer weather and won't be an issue.

I don't think that I got anything. I consider anything that falls today a surprise, because it feels like weather for some other place. Up to 31 degrees.

You're welcome. MOST of the time, what I said to you above is true. Cold is unpleasant, and it seems to make them not screw around and just get things done. Hope it works!

I have a 5 year old pug. I'm worried he wont go to the bathroom outside. We got him a doggy sweater and a coat. They don't fit perfectly tho because as you dog lovers know pugs are a mass or lovable be weird. So any suggestions Incase he refuses to be put on the lead or walked??? If he has to pee bad enough, he'll pee outside. Put the lead on before you go outside, and just walk him straight to where he usually goes to the bathroom in a no nonsense way. If he won't walk, he's little, so carry him to the spot, put him down and give him a command. I've found that they'll do that business quickly when it's really cold. But as an owner of many neurotic dogs when it comes to bathroom habits, it's a 50/50 proposition about pooping. That can have implications. If he refuses to poop, just take him out an extra time before bedtime, and then make sure he's sleeping in an area tonight that is easily cleanable iykwim. No expert, just have had a lot of dogs. Good luck.

I'll report back about the boiling water, snow thing. My daughter's boyfriend has never seen it, so we'll do it later tonight.
Down to 3 degrees with light snow again, and a few gusts that I haven't seen in hours. Nice.

But if it's cold, at least the cans don't stink. (Pony in there, somewhere)

I think that people don't care about wind chill because they either don't plan on being out in it, or don't plan on being stuck in it.

Yes Chicago is in the sweet spot for most models , they will likely see 6-12” with 30-50 mph winds. If I was the weather channel I would set up near Chicago too. Better hotels. Better food. Who wouldn't? lol

Just one thing about high wind and fireplaces, I stopped doing fires on extremely windy days because once the fire burned low, the wind blew down the fireplace and blasted my kitchen area with ashes. At some point, will do an insert, but we just did most of our windows this year. So maybe next year. Windows took forever. Had them measured in March, they didn't come in until August, and then they cancelled installation twice. Got them finally installed mid November. It was worth the wait but the wait was long.

Ok, that has me laughing. My sister currently lives an hour drive NW of Sault St Marie, ON on Lake Superior. This shows me being colder than HER.

In theory that's great. In reality, I have a 15 pound prime rib with my name on it for Christmas Eve at the store that I can't get until then, and a family with SOs showing up in the next two days. I have to feed them all for the duration. Gonna need a few more pizzas......................................................................................................................... Argh.

Can't pick up my big roast and perishables until Christmas Eve. I've got everything else ordered. If we're stuck, looks like frozen lasagne or chili for Christmas. I do not have the time to cook a holiday meal and freeze it before then.

Even if zero snow falls on Thursday, the winds alone make it for potentially dangerous travel conditions. My youngest in college in Indiana was not supposed to come until Thursday, but now he's coming on Wednesday.
