Yes , it is surprising on the radio this morning and local news not much mentioned. The NWS has no mention in the forecast, only afternoon rain and 42. Maybe they see something I don’t see. The GFS is dry and warm so maybe there going off that. They did put something on Facebook this morning talking about the possibility of it, but I've yet to see it show up in any forecast. I'm driving west on 50 tomorrow and once you get past Rosebud, it starts to get fairly windy. I don't mind driving in the snow at all, but I hate ice.

None of the local mets are talking about it. Is there still freezing drizzle on the table for tomorrow? Knowing how high impact only a little could be, it just seems odd that nobody has even mentioned the possibility.

The 00z NAM starts the freezing rain/drizzle with temps near 20* Saturday morning The FRAM chart is spitting out some respectable ice amounts in the northern counties into central IL with amounts near 2/10" What does it show from St. Louis west to Jefferson City as far as ice goes?

I know the other day there was some talk of freezing drizzle on Saturday morning. None of the mets are mentioning it at this point. We are driving from Washington to Jefferson City for a swim meet early Saturday morning. Should I be concerned about the drive?

Or maybe it’s just the heat Missouri is still radiating off from that ridiculously warm December We win a gold star for winter futility. Yay us!

I keep thinking of the Kevin Bacon scene at the end of “Animal House” while he is trying to control the crowd.

The models all agree the initial push of snow into central MO is going to die out as it reaches the Western counties of the metro. This is going to leave a dry hole between the initial push and how far NW strong development with the advecting vorticity. Id be say Union to Mascoutah IL to the SE is in a good spot. But further South like Farmington, st gen is closer to the bullseye. Along to and North of 70 might end up stuck between two snow maximums. Using Union as a reference has serious bust potential. Use Washington as the reference point instead. We all know of the fair weather bubble over Union. 😂😂😂

Seems to be following the same pattern from the last two days. The models seem to lose the storm in the afternoon runs only to find it again in the evening band overnight runs. Stay the course!!!

Wouldn’t that be something if we hit 70 today and broke the record for most days 70+ in December on the last day?

Have we had a day yet where we failed to get above freezing? If not, I’d love to know what the record is for the latest day for us to not get above freezing in a winter season. We’d have to be close I’d think.

If we aren’t going to get snow, it may as well be in the 60s all week. Warm and dry always beats cold and dry.

Looks like a healthy 1.5” of new snow this morning in Villa Ridge. Snow continues but beginning to lighten up. I will confirm this. I bet we got between 1”-1.5” in WashMO.

Not going to bother trying to measure snow today, I’m going to sit back and watch the birds swarm my feeders today. So glad we all got bullseyed for once. Sit back and enjoy the ride.
Oh yeah...moderate salt shaker snow in WashMO.

Drove from Washington to New Haven jus a bit ago. It is pretty slick out. Amazing how fast roads get covered when it’s been well below freezing for a week. 🙄
