Just measured 1.7 here in Chesterfield with a light mix of stuff right now. Heaviest snow the rest of today in Phase 1 will remain focused north of I-70...and gradually lift away from metro STL. Additional less organized bands of light to moderate mixed precipitation will continue to bubble up from the west/southwest over the next few hours...additional accumulations within the metro for today will likely be less than 1 inch. From what I'm seeing totals are lining up pretty close to the phase 1 forecast. I have not had time to look more closely at tomorrow...obviously that widespread 1-3 is a critical part of the storm total. Well forecasted. It’s necessarily about how you get there, it’s the ends result we’ll remember. Those who were grumbling about missing out early more than made up for it in the second band. I think you came out looking pretty good...today. 😉

Just about stopped here in WashMO. Looking at the radar, it should be temporary.

Wow! Once it started, it came fast and furious. I had to call my 16 year old somewhat new driver home from the gym. He said even Highway 100 was getting covered fast. Curious to see how the freezing drizzle later messes with this.

I just have a gut feeling I’m sitting in the ice bullseye on this one. I feel like the Missouri River is going to be the epicenter for ice.

Breakdown by p-type. That rain around the metro comes from the Saturday system This map makes me think those of us in Franklin County should be more concerned about an ice storm. Doesn’t take much.

Sorry - I always get Chris and Glen mixed up...lol How can you mixed them up? One shows the computer models of what might happen and one makes an experienced, well analyzed forecast with artistic snowfall maps drawing them in the form of the male anatomy without even realizing it. 😃 OMG!!! This just made my day! 😂😂😂

Sleets is transitioning to hamsters in Pacific. Did we have enough sleet to cool the pavement enough for it to stick?

Seems to me the later you get into winter, the harder the storms are to forecast. I wouldn’t be surprised to see an inch or two, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see 6+ inches. March is a unique beast!

Noice snowshower here..coaring the ground. I noticed that too on 100 on my way to school. Where did that come from? Is it the effect of warmer air coming in for today. It was enough to summon the "snow snakes" on the highway.

Our school has opted for a late start. This kind of storm is a perfect example of why more schools need that option. We start at 9:30. By then, daylight will speed up the melting process.
