Canada still likes us Wed. but gfs has the void of no snow like the Icon did. Not great when you only have the Nam and the Canadians.

Yea, ICON still doesn't have it unfortunately. RGEM and nam do look decent though.

Got my first Pfizer shot yesterday. No issues at all besides a little soreness in the arm of course. I implore all of you..everyone to get the vaccine. Now is the time to believe in science not shun it or be selfish. It will take all of us to get rid of this damn disease so things can get back to normal. Think of others, think of the going on half million who have died. heavy pouring rain continues.gross. disgusting. My entire family had Covid back in November and it was little more than a nuisance for all of us. None of us got very sick at all and only lasted a few days. But I do know not all are as lucky as we were so I really hope the vaccine is truly successful. Time will tell. Being in our early 30's and wanting to have more children, I'm not sure if my wife and I will. Not that there are indications it causes issues there (and it likely does not)...there just isn't enough data for me to feel comfortable. Having said that, if you are debating it, I agree with 99 - please get it. My wife's grandmother was about a week away from being able to get it. Unfortunately she and her husband contracted it somehow. He seems to be recovering - she is not and it doesn't look good at all. I only type this so that maybe someone who is in doubt about all of this reads it and understands that this is the real deal and we need to do everything we can to stop it. I've felt that way about it since the beginning but it's hitting too close to home now and it is very, very sad. Going back to weather, the models appear to be trying to bring the Wednesday system back. The Euro brought it back to some degree last night and the Nam (3k especially) is looking decent. We need onset in the morning while temps are in the upper 20's.

I hate to admit it but the Euro seems to have come out of hibernation the last few weeks.

When you see every single model take a hard left turn over the course of one or two runs it’s hard not to see where it’s heading...that’s not model worshipping or whatever the hell you want to call it. It’s watching the trend and realizing what’s most likely happening. Especially in a year like this one.

Gfs bailed on Wednesday at 18z as well. Good grief.

Euro stinks for Wednesday but it’s on its own at the moment.

Nam, icon, and rgem look good for Wednesday. A little quicker with onset toward Wednesday morning. Gfs slid SE with it.

I certainly wouldn’t fret over the modeled snow hole. This should be an area wide event, with some heavier bands embedded. That’s the way I see it right now. It’s good to see the models spitting out those heavier bands out in central MO - an indication it may get its act together in time as opposed to just to our east as it has been.

Gfs and gem both are nice with a 3-5” type system pretty ouch area wide Wednesday into Wednesday night. Given the consistency and our range, this may be our best shot this year so far.

Wsc you may just find yourself under the “death band.”

The first one is definitely heading north but the good news is the Wednesday system keeps looking better. And colder. Maybe we can get lucky with that system as it looks pretty decent.

Well I for one hope you can cash in WSC. You're still very active on the forum and always rooting for STL snow. As for the futility record, it feels like going into a sports game with high hopes only to have a blow out half way through. Then there's the strange part of you that says "let's see just how bad it can get."

Hope you get a huge snowstorm WSC. You always root for us to get one. Thanks, if I had to guess, I would say this one ends up right between STL and Chicago so we all feel the pain equally lol. Hasn’t been kind to us up north this season either This is starting to look like a solid prediction.

12z gem is a Chicago storm. So, Icon and gem shift north towards the euro. The gfs goes south. I know where my money is lol.

Of course then the GFS shifts way south, ha.

There goes the ICON with a big shift north with the parent low. It was like we barely even knew ya, digital snow.

That last week of Jan is typically when we get our good storms but the GFS is way too warm.

I hate to even mention this but the ICON has a borderline ice storm/backend snow for Monday, followed by another system. Both much further south than previous runs.

I'm not sure if the historical data is still available for the EPO index over the last 50 years like it used to be. But if it is, run it alongside accumulated snowfall. The correlation is unbelievably strong even from a statistical standpoint. And even I'm saying that as more of an "eye-test" guy.

The persistent trough south of Alaska (aka positive EPO) and resulting Pacific flow keeps shunting the arctic air north and east. That’s been our issue for several years now and I don’t see an end in sight.

The GFS is basically vacating all cold air in the medium and long range. I do believe it is time to move on from this "winter" unfortunately. It got me good this time - looked legit there for a couple days.

Group poll: What’s worse, last year’s 31/32 degree “ice storms” or this year’s melting snowflakes?

Gem has the late week storm as well. Please, for the sake of our mental states give us a good storm to track.

Gosh, the setup just looks loaded late next week. Especially with the gfs going back to cold pattern. We have some hope I think.

Gfs has a nice big wave of snow coming at us from the SW Friday before it vanishes into thin air. It’s much colder, hence the high swishing it. Icon has it too but a hair warm. There may be something there.

1.25” in Perryville. Kind of a nice clumpy snow that pasted the side of trees. Came down hard for a short while with big flakes. Better than nothing.

Snowing at a decent clip in Perryville. Bout a half inch on the car. Better than nothing but I echo the others...we need to make something happen before this winter is out. It’s been rough. Hell, two of our most prominent members have been driven to the penalty box.
