Tropical type of rain. No lightning to speak of. Definitely starting to show some signs of urban problems in Red Bud. I'm out of town now. It was still coming down hard there. More to come

Would someone please give me an idea on what next Thursday-Sunday may bring? Doing a 3 day kayak trip down macoupin creek to the Illinois river. Kinda concerned about high-water and or storms during the venture. Wish we would have went this weekend, the creek is running just about perfect now! The only reason I am asking is because my niece has to take off work and may be able to change dates if next weekend is a washout. Thanks That's tough when you're dealing with the creek in the spring period. One or two days of heavy rain and........ When you're talking about 7 to 10 days out realistically, I'd say go ahead with it and if it doesn't look good by next Tuesday....... this is spring you know. You got a chance of heavy rain about once a week.

The models I've been looking at really don't indicate that stuff making it here but it looks like it might hold together. We'll see

I think I spoke of this years ago maybe. It's about cracks in the soil. Is that Mother Nature's way of saying "I want some of that run off" in desperate times. You think nature is that smart?

When your figure he was a first baseman over half his time here I'm not sure how much wear-and-tear you're talking about. Pretty close to the least strenuous position on the field. You may call third base a little less strenuous. Don't tell Scott Rolen that though; -) I do think Albert was a bit heavy for his frame though. That will pound on you. He did run the bases a lot. Scored over a hundred runs pretty much every year. I just wonder if he'll hang on actively next year. He's definitely replaceable now. Shame on Major League Baseball making next year the first year of the Angels come to town. It was probably the working out and training for years on end that wore his body down... not standing at first base for a couple hours lol. His feet are why he declined so quickly. Basically, he has been selling out for homers for 3 years now. Totally different approach because he can't do what he used to be able to do. Still a top 5 hitter ever with a perfect peek run with the birds. All these suppositions about why he wore out early. How about he was two years older than we thought? I mean planters fasciitis, which was his nemesis, is definitely agrravated by load. Saying the added muscle did it works. Simply working out doesn't do it.

They had a guy from Baseball Prospectus on KMOX today talking about Albert basically admitting he's two years older Yahoo sports interview than what people believe. He then went on to explain by metrics how an age of 40 fits his decline better than age of 38. In fact he said if he was truly 38 he had the largest drop off ever of anybody entering their second decade that was a superstar in their first. Just think of it. If you figure he was really 34 when he signed with the Angels instead of 32 his numbers look about right. Maybe the Cardinals knew this Either way, he went pretty hard for 10 years straight. The wear and tear on his body was bound to catch up with him. Part of me, while I know it was a sound business decision, wishes that he was getting 3,000 in a Cardinal uniform. It’s raining and the Cards have a 9-1 lead! And it’s hump day! I was at the game and safely covered in the red jacket Club. I love my wife's new job and her employers. Quite a fancy little place up there. I talked for a while with her boss. Baseball is the universal language obviously for guys. We had a nice conversation. It was a very solid game. One of the better games they played this year. Other than that goofy play Yadi made they pretty much played flawlessly. The play is much tighter this year

Hope the game doesn’t get rained out tonight! Seems to be more of a nuisance rain than a washout rain. Weather Service is only looking for a few hundredths of an inch tonight

On a side note, I guess it's time to trade the car in. We just went in to have it serviced and I was shocked to find out that after a hundred and fifty-three thousand miles we're going to have to replace the front brake pads. They just don't make cars like they used to. Crazy thing is at this state I'm probably smarter doing a fully loaded replacement. Calipers have to be pretty much worn out or needing to be rebuilt. Not one in the mood to rebuild a caliper. Sarcasm detected? Its like $100 for new brake pads and the easiest DIY job ever. Of course it is. But if you are 7 years and 153000 miles in odds are a boot is bad. I would be shocked if one wasn't
