It is a very fun time of year for baseball fans and I thought some of you might want to talk possible trades here.
I'll open the discussion.
I have heard a ton of talk about 1b help. Personally, I would love to have Ada Lind, but I think the Brewers will ask the moon for him, and trading within the division is difficult.
What I have not heard proposed is a trade with Texas for Mitch Moreland. He is having a solid year and would be a vast improvement. His salary is affordable, but I believe he is arb eligible next year where he probably jumps to 4.5-6 million depending on the strength of his second half.
He would be a solid upgrade, and I think he could be had for a couple mid range prospects like Cooney and Lyons. You would probably have to throw in something on the offensive side as well, but I think you could hold onto a Marco Gonzalez, which is a must for me.
A longer shot for me would Be Adrian Beltre. He is older, and has a hefty contract through next year. However, if the Rangers would eat half of it, you get a solid 3b and can shift Matt Carpenter over to 1b.
