So just recently I have been getting a "Low Battery Transmitter 1" message. Being our lack of sunny days, I figured it had drained the battery. Well we had some sunny days, but the message kept up. After all the clouds we had yesterday and today, I woke to no display from the ISS. So before bothering you all, I went to the trusty good ol' net to research it.
Found out the battery inside it is not a rechargeable. During the sunny days, the solar panel charges a Super Capacitor, and that is what it runs off of. When the Capacitor is depleted it will then run off the battery (Which is just a standard battery). They said this battery can last anywhere from 8 months to 2 years depending on sunlight. I've had my unit since 2012/2013 I can't remember which year. But I think that was a pretty good time for the battery to last.
So my question is, what battery should I get? Remember the biggest shop I have in my area is WalMart. Other wise I have to drive an hour to either get to Springfield or STL.
I've seen 2 suggestions so far, and just wanted other's opinions. They are "Duracell Ultra Lithium DL123AD2U" which is cross referenced with CR123, CR123A and EL123A. The other is "Energizer 123 Lithium". Is anyone of those fine (Or better then each other), or should I look for another brand?
