Just a reminder...use mPING to report precipitation types. You can submit a report via RadarScope or the free app for iOS/Android. The NWS does pay attention to the reports. You can see the reports at the official website. Or for those that use GRLevel3 you can get the placefiles for free here.

Is it me, or does the radar look significantly north of model guidance?

Probably with thunder too. Can anyone access this map or is it premium? I don't have the link handy, but its on the public ESRL HRRR site. Big caveat with this chart is that in my experience it way over states the lightning potential.

Looking at hires models, current sfc obs...and radar... I think my going forecast is in reasonably good shape. It will come up too high in a few narrow swaths...and too low in others...but the general picture looks good. The "split" in the snow/sleet sheild is taking shape north of Jefferson City up to about Columbia...and I expect that will translate northeast a ways into Lincoln and Pike County before filling in. A NARROW stripe of enhanced precip is taking shape roughly from Jefferson City...up to about St. Charles. In general... steady as she goes at this point. No need for changes.

This is frustrating. Still have had absolutely nothing here in CoMo. The MZZU radar does show that the gap between the southern precip and the northern stuff is filling in, especially out by Sedalia. Hopefully thatll fill in and actually make it over here.
