Yes...we lose KPLR...but we pick up KDNL and ABC programming which is FAR superior. ABC programming may be better but KDNL has no news department. That is an opportunity, but there are certainly going to be issues in that regard. No doubt there's lots of details to be worked out about what happens to the KPLR news segments. Hopefully the KTVI can stay in Westport. The parent company of KDNL...and soon to be parent company of KTVI... announced several months ago that KDNL will add newscasts at 5am, 6pm and 10pm. The KPLR schedule will be in the hands of their new owner Meredith...which owns Ch4. Nobody knows where the new KTVI/KDNL duo will end up. KKDNL owns a mostly vacant building and studio in north city...so we could move there. Or KDNL could simply move out to Maryland Heights with us. Nobody knows for sure which way it will go. Either way all of us will continue to work hard on your behalf!

I have enjoyed being able to watch Chris and Fuller team up from time to time.

Just saw a tweet that said ch 11 and ch 4 will be sister stations soon as a new company bought 11 i guess. Ki da sucks for ch 2. Yes...we lose KPLR...but we pick up KDNL and ABC programming which is FAR superior. Will you have a news broadcast on Ch. 30?

Didn’t KTVI/KDNL do a switch or something awhile back? As for abc programming Agents of Shield rock. To understand this, you must first understand the difference between affiliation and ownership...they are different. Affiliation is kind of like being a franchise owner of a McDonalds. You get the name, branding and products of "the mother ship" but you own and operate the business. The same is true of TV affiliates. Prior to 1996, KTVI was the ABC affiliate, but was owned by a different company (Times Mirror I believe) while KDNL was owned by some other company...and was the Fox affiliate. Then in 1996, the Fox network stepped in and bought KTVI from Times Mirror because they wanted a stronger pressence in STL (likely because the Rams had just moved to STL). They stripped the affiliation from KDNL and gave it to KTVI...and Fox 2 News was born. The ABC network...left with no affiliate in a top 20 market jumped to KDNL where it has floundered ever since. Now, the company that owns KDNL (Sinclair) is buying both KTVI and KPLR. But that gives them 3 stations in one market...which is a no-no. So they are "flipping" KPLR to Meredith...which also owns KMOV. Confused? I have to be careful about saying anything that has not already been reported as I am not authorized to do so...nor am I in a position to know anything anyway. No matter how it shakes out, the professionals of KTVI/KPLR will continue to provide the same high quality product you have come to expect.

Hopefully we can get some of the Fox 2 Mets and talent on KDNL because PlayStation Vue dropped ch. 2 a few months ago ago but added 5 and 30 so the only local stations I don't get live are 2, 9 & 11. I was upset when Vue dropped 2 but we are saving nearly a $1k a year over Direct TV with nearly the same channels and Vue also gives us HBO and Showtime with our package, limitless cloud DVR and on-demand services and can stream to 5 devices simultaneously for $75 a month. Direct TV with DVR on 4 tv's was $150 a month.

Hope the game doesn’t get rained out tonight! Seems to be more of a nuisance rain than a washout rain. Weather Service is only looking for a few hundredths of an inch tonight

No question. The game gets played tonight. Not even enough for a delay... and wven questionable that is may be enough for an umbrella. A better chance for showers exists well south.

Change is never easy. I’m hoping that the changes with the stations end up being positive for the viewers , the companies and their loyal employees.

That would be great because when Vue dropped Fox 2 due to contractual agreements with all the affiliates owned by the parent company it was the first time this had happened with a live internet streaming tv channel. I believe all tv will be streaming or OTA with satellite's days numbered.

Meaningful rain skirted me in pretty much every direction the past event. It consistently fell apart as it approached the river valley...first from the S/SW then from the E/NE.

I had Vue for a year or so but switched to Sling recently because I could cut my monthly cost in half without losing any channels really. Anyway, could see some good thunderstorms next week with a strong SW flow

I pay an extra $5 for a movie pkg. Am happy with it. As long as I can watch baseball! It’s been light rain here for the last couple hours, but seems to be just south of the stadium for now. I went across the JB bridge this morning and was a little surprised to see the river starting to get back to normal or maybe a little low considering the heavy rains earlier this month, or am I not remembering when that was?

Someone mentioned this a few days ago I think. But remember that extreme rainfall event in Kauai a little over a week ago? 49" of rain fell in 24 hours. Well, if confirmed it would be a new US record for most rainfall in a 24 hour period.

It’s raining and the Cards have a 9-1 lead! And it’s hump day! I was at the game and safely covered in the red jacket Club. I love my wife's new job and her employers. Quite a fancy little place up there. I talked for a while with her boss. Baseball is the universal language obviously for guys. We had a nice conversation. It was a very solid game. One of the better games they played this year. Other than that goofy play Yadi made they pretty much played flawlessly. The play is much tighter this year

My guess... 60 Saturday 67 Sunday.
