North facing walks and driveways are starting to get covered. This is going to surprise a lot of commuters this morning.

NWS has a terrible forecast out right now, roads are getting snow covered in St Charles county

They should put out a short advisory for this to get people to attempt to slow down. 40/170 ramps were covered and I nearly lost it going to work.

Waking up to a 'surprise' quarter to half inch in Belleville. Looks like the radar is getting active right along the I-70 to I-64 corridor feeding straight into the metro. Perhaps some of the HiRes models calls of a inch with spots of 2 might not be so unrealistic under the heavier bands.

Not a thing here. Radar is killing me. Meh.

I drive in to work fairly early (430AM). I noted at least 4 trucks treating the roads on the Illinois side, one near Greenmount Rd/I64., one by 159/I64 and twins exiting 255 headed east on I64. I didn't see any on the MO side. The roads weren't bad at that time but were slop covered in my work parking lot.

Got down to about 1/4 visibility on my way into school in Pacific this morning. Roads aren't slick, but the grass is turning white fast.

The trend is south for sure, but even the NWS disco mentions the GFS (last night's 00z run) had the precip shield get to as far N as STL. This will take a cpl more days to start narrowing it down and substantial shifts are still possible.

Grass has a white-ish color to it. Deck is coated. Pavement looks to be just wet.

The nam at the end of its run slides the HP to the east a bit further than the gfs, which appears to allow a much stronger push of moisture from the SW.
