Honestly... all of this heat should spell good news for winter. I expect a pretty healthy slingshot into the cold season when it gets here. My thoughts too. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a cool September and October translate to a decent winter.

Are you a extremist? You like really cold and hot. I like it when we break weather records for cold and snow, but not heat haha. You can take this heat 😫! lol. I like this weather. Then snow ranks as my second favorite. Extreme cold is down there pretty far on my list. You might be recalling my rant abt the ssw last year a bit out of context. That thing was talked abt for a month before it impacted us with 2 days of extreme cold. I dont like cold without snow, if its cold it may as well snow. Oh okay. I understand your stance better!

Dews are hitting a wall in the upper 60s. Wonder if they'll be able to push into the 70s in the coming days.

92 is the new record, dethroning the old record of 91 from 1891! It's amazing what big time warm advection and a strong ridge can do!

I expect they will. We mixed out the low level moisture this afternoon... but as we stratify tonight Tds will start creeping back up.

And in case you are wondering... there are more than double the number of record low temperatures left on the books that predate 1900. The exact number is 58.

Euro has temps in the 50's with some showers around next Saturday. That'd be nice.

If we can just make it through a few more days of near record or record heat...fall looks to roll in for real Thursday and Friday.

A decent cell is coming for you Snowman99, should be over you in like 5ish minutes! Looks like the I-44 corridor has been hit, south county and further south are next.

My forecast is calling for a chance of thunderstorms for me 20 hours from now after 4 a.m. Sunday morning and I can hear thunder already from these coming in I think they need an updated. I guess it could fall apart before it gets here but I'm just hesitant to say that because it's not winter yet. :-)

We are in Bonne Terre at the cabin listening to crickets and distant thunder! I look on radar and it heads northeast and disappears by noon! Is that true?

It does look like there could be some storms developing this evening along the northern fringe of the ridge...water vapor shows a shortwave lifting NE out of the panhandle region and CAMs develop scattered convection ahead of that across the N half of the Bi-state.
