So what does everyone think about KTVI airing the National Anthem again before the 4am newscast?

GEFS members are all over the place with the system early next week. A handful even bring a major snowstorm to the area

Literally ever since I moved to KC last year I have experienced no disappointment casually tracking winter storms. Last Winter was actually was more brutal overall than anything I experienced in STL since I joined in 2006.
We went through a stretch were it seemed we were getting 3"+ events every week. This year we have experienced 2 measurable snows already and we are still a week away from Turkey Day.
I do not know exactly what it is that I am trying to convey but I just wonder is there a shift starting to occur in the winter season(s) such as timing, impact and extremes.

I personally think it’s great. We need more national pride in this country.

Because they could get more ad revenue airing a commercial Money isn’t everything.... ‘Twas a joke. Doubt the time slot has much value and if the data says the majority up at that hour lean more patriotic then it seems like a no brainer

Doubt the time slot has much value and if the data says the majority up at that hour lean more patriotic then it seems like a no brainer I remember when KMOX would air the National Anthem and the Our Father right before they announced school closings...ahhh..memories. My school was in the parade of saints. My favorite was this line: "The following schools are all closed..."

I'm old enough to remember when TV stations would sign off for the night and back on again in the morning with the National Anthem and video of the Statue of Liberty, flags waving, jets flying, etc. In the wee hours the only thing to watch would be a test pattern with the station and logo and, usually, the head of an Indian Chief wearing a full head dress. Never have understood the reason behind that last part.

I don’t think we will be too impressed with Zs here in about an hour though either to be honest. Probably much less detail but still looking forward to it!

The only difference with Glen's forecast is that he thinks January may have little more bite than Dave's forecast with no January thaw. Other than that December and February are about the same.

I think daves thoughts look pretty reasonable....he is basically saying bookend winter. We started cold and snowy, and weve seen some late season wet sloppy concretes to end the season. I wld hv bet on a bit more snow...if you recall my magic number is 20 so it makes sense that i wld say that, bbtst, the rationale that dave provided make sense especially when you go back in history and see that rainy years become low snow winters.

Two astronomers are predicting a significant burst of meteors tonight that will peak at 10:50p and only last about 15 minutes. The rate could be as high as 1 every 10 seconds they say. The forecast calls for cloudy conditions during this time so we might miss out on this on.

If so had it been tracked beforehand or was it a surprise? Not even sure if or where I heard this.

Speaking of meteors...I saw on Fox2 last week a story of a guy in Lincoln county who thought he found a fragment of the "Missouri Meteor" on his farm. It was a few inches across and said it was being taken to WashU for analysis. Has anyone heard an update on this?
