I hate even saying this because it changes frequently but the EPO and NAO both show a strong turn to negative in the short term. I only mention it because it is such a big change and only a few days away. If we can keep them that way we will have a good chance at some systems to track in Dec. Also supporting it is the big time cold that looks to build into central Canada next week.

We got some little pockets of snow/sleet/rain coming through the metro. I'll take it before the pattern reestablishes itself after Turkey Day!

EURO is a no go for December. Well, I guess it's marginally better than what its showing for the Sierra Nevada region. Maybe Flagstaff, AZ is the place to be this year again. They had that 3' storm last year. Good thing they're getting it now, I guess...
WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Several feet of snow in the Sierra Nevada will be possible above 4,000 feet and the Kern County Mountains above 6,000 feet. Accumulating snow possible down as low as 3,000 feet.

Was looking at that Sierra storm. Winter storm watch 5 days out warning holiday travelers. Pretty serious stuff

Euro has 2-3 inches of rain on Thursday afternoon thru Friday. Gross We're getting close to entering that time period where "rain is gross". While rain is the most climatologically favored precip. type at this latitude, rain from mid December onward is an eye sore..lol

I'm concerned about it being a miserably damp, wet, too warm to snow at all week. Yeah, I'd say the middle of the road ( little, if any snow or severe storms either one) approach is the best with the outlook this week. Who knows though we've been surprised before, just rarely...lol.
