Ever since I moved I’ve continued to get screwed and St. Charles has prospered. It’s crap Hang in there. Playing the odds, I’ll take our locale every time. At least every light snow looks and feels heavy with the 50-60mph gusts lol

Just over an inch here. Almost over. STL wins again. Bust. Meh. Ever since I moved I’ve continued to get screwed and St. Charles has prospered. It’s crap Only a matter of time before Chicago gets hit with back to back blizzards. Odds can only stay this tilted for so long

Well this system had something for everybody... Was is the .5 to 1" ice storm of doom with 5-8" plus of snow? No. But it had lots of rain, thunderstorms which is uncommon to rare this time of the year and even some severe weather with gusty winds and rapidly rising than falling temps once the front finally came through and even some sleet and snow to top it off with generally D-3" of snow for the metro and even higher out west. This was a fun system to track and had it's share of twists and turns. I give it a solid B+ to A- on the hype meter/enjoyment meter. Late next week into the weekend looks like it wants to be a repeat of this system though without as much of a flood threat. Still liking the last week of January into much of February for several solid shots of cold and some snow. Will it be extreme... Most likely not, but at least a turn toward seasonable perhaps a bit below average and as we know that's more than enough for some solid winter storms around here if the moisture can connect that is.

My season total is sneaking up there. I was surprised to do the math and see that I'm sitting at 9.4" for the season so far.

Lol, they are in different seasons so it works out great. Actually think the team has made some smart moves this offseason even if I think they should spend more of their revenue

I can’t help but feel somewhat disappointed that the epic runs of previous GFS are gone. I knew this storm wouldn’t be a significant snow, but the one end of next week sure was looking like it would have some umph. You all think it’s written off, or is there still a chance?

Need it to come in weaker and flatter. Strong high pressure is transient and moves quickly to the east, while another area of high pressure stays west. This leaves a soft spot for the storm to move north into

All and all... I will put this storm in the "win" column in terms of the forecast. It took a couple of adjustments to get to the final answer... but I am pretty darn happy.

Turned out better than I thought. I wasn't too jazzed that it would even snow. We really need to turn cold though because my wife commented that the grass has really gotten greener and looks like its growing. I said no... I'm not going to cut the grass!

Is there any official seasonal snowfall data for specific counties? It seems like St. Charles has tended to be the hotspot over the last decade, but would love to compare against lambert to see if it’s just a cognitive bias

I think Wednesday is marginally interesting.
Probably a storm for those further north, but not inconceivable for it to lay down some snow in parts of Missouri/Illinois

The cold shot ahead of the system looks weak and will get washed out by WAA before any precep arrives. Maybe we can eek out something on the backside. I’d love to be proven wrong
