Not complaining. Other than something that will be here Christmas morning, my interest in dealing with winter weather is waning as I reach AARP age.

Salt shaker here now. Heavier band is lifting north of me. Gotta love these snow bands. Wish it was just one huge band expanding 100 miles in all directions. Lol

Out changing SD cards in trailcams, love walking in the woods when it snows. All the critters that can easily hide in plain sight, suddenly become visible!

Snow had quit for 10-15 minutes a little after 11. Now it's picking back up again.
Going to go off on MoDOT early this time. Looking at the traffic backup from the large accident I'm seeing two tire tracks in all lanes of 70 going both directions. But I look out at my little residential street that was salted by St. Peters about 9 this morning and it's just wet. So why is 70 two tire tracks? Mileage wise MoDOT has more than St. Peters. But St. Peters doesn't have the equipment and resources MoDOT does.
So why is MoDOT not able to do what St. Peters is?

Decent sized flakes just starting falling like a snow globe out of no where just SW of Desoto.
Parents who live in Festus are reporting light snow as well.

The brine is more about not having snow stick to the pavement so it can be removed easier. If MoDOT pre-salted in advance., the traffic and all of the wind from the traffic would have pushed the salt off the road by the time it started snowing heavily.

Much to my surprise a few flakes have broken through in Perryville. Too bad the band will lift north before anything can amount to much.

Moderate size flakes falling here now in Cedar Hill. Intensity is picking up too. I'll be happy if we get enough to get a snow day tomorrow. The kids (and the teachers) are ready for winter break. Hard to believe that 1/2 the school year is almost done.
